Last minute (well kind of...) resort change? Question.

As you can see by my ticker - less than 3 weeks until we are headed to Disney! To say we are getting excited is an understatement.......

We are booked at WL/standard view room. Due to circumstances involving our traveling companions, we are thinking about switching our resort. I wanted the Contemporary but there is nothing available (never stayed there before!) and have now narrowed it down to either the Poly or AKL (if we do decide to change).

My question is this: if we change, since we are within 30 days of trip, will we be charged a change fee if we make a "lateral" move or an upgrade? I'd prefer not to have to pay (although our nerves might appreciate it). We might end up leaving things as-is but I knew someone on here would know if we'd be subject to any fees by making a change?

Thanks in advance!

I have no first hand experience with changing that soon. But from what I have heard here they will not charge you. Apparently Disney is happy to take more money from you, Who would have thought? Now if you were to downgrade then you would be charged.

I asked this question several months ago regarding my package and was told by the CM that a change involving an increase in cost would not incur fees; only changes that reduce the cost of the package are charged. If you booked room-only, there are no fees for changes outside of 7 (?) days. They simply cancel one ressie and start another.

Good luck! We adore the Poly and love AKL, too. WL is also lovely, so no matter what you decide, your vacation will be magical! :sunny:

ETA: Sorry, not sure what happens with a "lateral" change. My instincts say you'll be charged.
