last minute waitlist luck?

Has anyone ever had luck with waitlist coming through at the last minute? We are heading to Disney in 10 days or so - have 1 bdrm booked at SSR, but we're still on the waitlist for BWV (any view, 1 bdrm or 2 bdrm). Just wondering what the chances are. Our home resort is BWV, but we booked this little trip really late. Don't mind trying SSR - but BWV is really our favorite, mainly for the walkability to the parks. Either way the trip will be great - but I'm just curious!

I would have to think not great. It sounds like you are going about a week after New Year's - which means some folks might be staying through the week - thus making it a little busier. Also, the marathon weekend then starts on the 11th. I tried to add to our reservation for that weekend 8 months out and had to wait list. I ended up getting all of my days, but it took a while - got the last day about 6 weeks ago.

So - I think chances are slim - but hey - it could happen. So - here is some pixie dust for you!

As a quick FYI - the Luna Park Pool is closed the entire month of January... so maybe SSR won't be so bad. I was not pleased to learn this 4 weeks ago - but oh well...they were unable to switch us to BCV, so we will have to deal. We will both still be at Disney, right?

I had great last minute luck this December. On Monday Nov 26 I called and got on a wait list for a 1 bedroom or studio Dec 9th and Dec 10th. Every day I called and on Wednesday after 5:30 PM looked on line and noticed I had less points in my account. I did get my 1 bedroom for Dec 9th and 10th. I called MS the next morning just to make sure prior to canceling my backup plan for Pop Century. MS said that wait list do come though this late in the game if 20% of the resort set aside for cash reservations with Disney they give the room back to DVC to book.
