Hi guys
We had given up on the idea of going to the happy place this year, as our daughter was getting married next April, and we had resigned ourselves to saving to pay for this and not having a holiday. It was fine as we were enjoying looking forward to, planning and saving for the wedding.
A couple of weeks ago, my daughter and her fiancé dropped the bombshell that they were postponning the wedding. All was well with them, they were still engaged but they had decided they wanted to wait a couple of years and then probably have a small wedding :scared1:
So, after we had recovered from the shock, we realised that if we could recover part of the deposit we had paid on the wedding venue (negotiations are ongoing), we MIGHT be able to get out to WDW after all.
The problem is that we have holiday booked from work in mid July to early August which we cannot change. If we were able to go, it would mean booking very late - maybe at about 3 - 4 weeks out, and would need to do it as cheaply as possible.
So we were wondering if anybody had any advice? Websites to keep an eye on, companies to try, strategies to employ etc. We would be very grateful to hear your ideas. We would love to make this happen!!!
We are two adults and a lad aged 14.
Can fly 19th July at the earliest and must be back in the country by 3rd August.
Live in the North of England so Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh are most convenient airports, but would consider London if we could get an exceptional deal. Happy for in direct flights
Thanks for any advice you can give :thumbsup2

Hi there

Sorry I don't have the answers and wouldn't know where is best for last minute deals but I would just do a lot of googling. Look at virgin holidays, first choice or maybe even direct with disney?

All very obvious I know, sorry I can't be of any more help than that?

Michelle

eBookers have some indirect from EDI with United for around £650 :confused3 Not bad flight times and doubt you'll get anything cheaper even last minute.

All you can do is keep looking when you are ready to book. Hope you find a deal but I suspect you will struggle at that time of year.

I booked in Jan for July, not see prices any lower since.

Be flexible, consider indirect or using different airports and you might find something, airports like Jacksonville are often cheaper in summer.

When you know your dates post again and we can help look.

Keep checking Thomson flights, they go into Sanford but they have had some incredible last minute prices! But that has been outside of school holidays, and I mean last minute like a week or less before flying! Xxx

Check out the room rates on the US Disney website. They are offering a Summer Vacation Offer discount on room only rates for 15 June through 28 August.

Not all resorts are available or on sale, but All Star Music/Sports are $112 per night and Caribbean Beach is $147 per night as an example. These can be reserved with one night's deposit.

You can also book these rates through Orbitz and may be able to 'stack' a 15% discount using their 'gethappy' code. Orbitz requires full payment at the time of reservation, though. Hope this helps!

Try sky scanner they will give you the prices for the dates that you are looking at. What I normally do is say I am flexible for the whole month and then check what days are cheapest. I was looking about that time myself to go on my own and it was about five to six hundred each for flights. Then I would just book the hotel separate as its not a per person price its for the room so can work out alot cheaper. If you need any more help then feel free to email me via the site as I have never just went into a travel agent and booked my holiday and I have been to WDW from Scotland about seven times now xx

Good luck xx

Expedia? I decided mid March to go on a last minute trip. I can't say about the flights as I used my flying club points to pay for the flights, but, I went on Expedia and got 13 nights for £890 at Pop Century going in 8 weeks. It all went smoothly and I had one of the best trips ever because I didn't end up over planning it. Look at all the airline sites as well as you could go cheaper by not doing a package. Good luck

I am a chicken about flights so usually end up paying too much. But in mid February I booked a last minute trip for May and got 30% off at AKL and premium economy Virgin seats for less than I l paid for economy in August 2013. I accept at £900 each they weren't cheap but it was a pretty good deal comparably. So keep hunting it can be done. Good luck!!!!

Thank you everybody!!
Still fighting with the cancelled venue, but very hopeful!!
I am keeping the dream alive, and will let you know how we get on:thumbsup2
