So.....I have a trip for F&W planned for next weekend at Beach Club. Today, I found a Yacht Club room that will save over $200, so I want to switch. Can I still have Magic Express transfer our luggage - my travel party is flying from 2 different locations and I don't know if I can get new tags to them in time.

Sure just contact DME and make the destination change. The yellow DME tags make it easier to grad the bags at MCO but they can also find your bags using the baggage check numbers from the individual Airlines. Just stop at the DME kiosk and provide them the information from the Airline checked bags tags. They will pull from the individual carries based on the airline tags.

Call them at (866) 599-0951 with your updated MDE resort location(s).

If you don't change the reservation number when you change resorts then you shouldn't have a problem. You might want to cross out Beach Club on the yellow luggage tags and write Yacht Club with a marker. And let Magical Express know of the change. :)

Do you already have your MagicBands? If so, then they’ll work at the new resort but double-check at the front desk before walking all the way to your room.

Or are you a non-American who will have to pick them up at the resort? If you are supposed to be picking them up at the resort, you won’t get a customized band but you’ll still be able to pick a colour. Your customized ones will have gone to the wrong resort and then they’ll send them back to the factory. They will not send them over to YC, even just from BC, and they will be long gone by checkin day so you can’t even walk over to get them yourself. :-) Ask me how I know this... ;-)

If you "change" your existing reservation, i.e. the reservation number stays the same (which is what should happen), your luggage should follow along, using the original yellow tags, without you needing to do anything special. The yellow tags have a bar code and the resort name on them. The barcode is your confirmation number and it's that that is used to direct your bags to your room. The resort name is only there because guests think it should be there and as a vain backup attempt in case the tracking system fails completely.

If you call DME and ask them what to do, they'll tell you to mark through the name (if you want), but don't touch the barcode. They may or may not suggest you write in the new resort name (it shouldn't matter whatsoever).

If for some reason the confirmation number does change, don't use the yellow tags. Instead, when you get to the DME desk at MCO, give them your baggage claim checks and they'll send someone up to baggage claim to retrieve your luggage and sent it to the resort.

Also, as mentioned, there's no need to worry about magic bands either. They'll work just fine at the new resort, since they are merely keys to get into your MDE account. There's nothing actually stored on them.

I recommend keeping the yellow tags on the bags, and crossing off the barcode & the words Beach Club, and writing Yacht Club on them. That will let them know to grab your bags before they hit the public conveyor belt, but will also alert them that you are't staying at Beach Club anymore.

Or just leave the tags alone & don't worry about it. As another poster mentioned, Beach & Yacht Club share the same building, so it won't be a hard problem to fix if they're sent to the wrong resort. But if time is short & the processing time for fixing a mix-up is a concern, I would mark out the tags.
