Last minute specials on room rate??

We're going to Disney Apr28-May6. During our trip, we were planning on 2 days at universal. Initially those visits were going to be separated (Monday/Thursday), but then I started reading about FOTL and decided I wanted to do that instead.

However...I'm going with my two sisters and their families. While I would be willing to pay the seasonal rate of $229 for the room, they feel it's a bit too steep. I was able to convince them to do it if I could get a AAA membership and book the rooms (would drop the rate about $45-50). Unfortunately, I've been told by both a AAA agent and the hotel itself that I can only reserve 1 room per membership.

Are there any other ways to get discounted rooms? Does Universal normally offer any last minute specials? We were hoping to pay about $200/night with tax.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The day after my mom's funeral, most of my extended family was still in Florida. I was up early with my little nephew watching the Nickelodean station. I decided what we needed was a trip to Universal! I called and was able to get two rooms at the RPR--that night--for $169 each. I am not sure what discount rate I used. It could have been AAA, AP or Entertainment card. I was able to get two rooms, so maybe I told them my sister had her own AAA? I just don't remember. I do remember that without asking, I was upgraded to a King Suite due to my Loews Platinum.
