My family and I are going May 14th to the Swan for the first time. I have read lots of great things and the heavenly beds look and sound wonderful. However, I am all of the sudden in a panic thinking that maybe we should have stayed at a "Disney" resort. Am I going to be missing out on anything by not staying at an actual Disney resort?

Does anyone else panic at the last minute about their reservation?

No, don't be worried at all, the Swan is a great resort! ::yes:: We stayed at the Dolphin 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. They are both beautiful resorts with lots of amenities, if you didn't already know they weren't "official" Disney resorts, you would never realize it once you got there.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, they will do anything to make your stay more magical. My favorite was waking up to the weather forecast on our door every morning--very helpful. It gave us the high and lows and if it was supposed to rain or be cloudy--whatever.

The location can't be beat, we were a short walk to Epcot and MGM and right on the Boardwalk. And to hear the Friend Ship boats every night was great.

You will have an awesome vacation, don't worry about a thing!:bounce:

We stayed at the Swan for our first visit in 15 years last June and it was wonderful. Our first night was at All Stars Music so I missed slightly the Disney theming when we checked in. However, we had a view overlooking the Boardwalk and quickly discovered the location was phenomenal. Epcot is our favorite park (for Illuminations!) so it was a joy to always stroll back in the evening (past the Boardwalk Bakery, of course!

We would have stayed at Dolphin or Swan this summer if it weren't for AP rates at the AKL that we really wanted to try.

Oh, as for panicing at the last minute, I think I changed my room reservation 5 times last year. This year I'm just holding onto 2 until the last minute when I have to commit. :D

 I am freaking out about my rooms right now. We are booked at the ASMo resort. This is our first time staying there. I am not used to staying in rooms that small. I would love to upgrade, but financially, it can't happen.

:wave2:

Hopelea--

Don't worry about staying at the All Stars!! We stayed there a couple years ago because it was the only place we could afford. I didn't think the rooms are actually not that much smaller then the rooms at WL or AKL! It may get a little cramped if you have four people, but the atmosphere is a ton of fun, and being able to go to Disney will certainly make up for it!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!! I would love to get a free upgrade. We are going to DW for my dad's retirement celebration and he isn't happy that we booked a value resort! :)

Oh well, we won't be in the room very much!

Thanks, Hope

Thanks aladdinsgirl. The weather report? I didn't know they did that. That can be extremely helpful.

I'm sure everything will be great. I will just be happy to be at WDW again. It is has been a couple of years for me.

All Stars rooms are small but the beds are in great shape, the rooms are clean and the resorts have an almost infectious fun atmosphere - you will have a great time

The Swan has a great location and is the first hotel on the Epcot Resorts bus run - the heavenly beds are a bonus

You will all have a great time!

thanks
