Last minute, no kids trip!

We've got a free weekend next month that DH and I could make a quick weekend trip without the kids (SSH!!! Don't tell them!!) We'll just be doing Epcot/MGM/Boardwalk and would love to stay at the Boardwalk, but it ain't in the budget!

So, where's a nice off-site hotel? I found the Radisson on Hotel Kingdom for $65 a night. This is about the budget range I'm looking at. I want the DTD area, and we really don't need a suite, as we'll only be there two nights. Any other suggestions?

Check the Country Inn and suites Calypso Cay on Hotel Kingdom. It's really nice, nice pool area, free breakfast too. You take Oscelola parkway right to the BW area of Disney in less then 10 minutes, no traffic. I got a great rate of $43.88 last time.

Hi Sheri! Lucky you!! My recommendations would be to try Hotwire or Priceline. The Swan & Dolphin sometimes come up depending on your dates. I think people are reporting getting the Dolphin for around $70/night on Priceline. Also, the Holiday Inn at DTD (formerly the Courtyard) sometimes comes up for $35/night on Hotwire. Also, the Doubletree Club Orlando is also on Hotwire for around $49/night - this is not an official DTD hotel, but is located right at the entrance

Hey Kimberly! I can't believe I'm actually considering going two weekends in one month. The kids are so excited about next weekend. Then we found out yesterday that DH will be off the weekend of the 20th. My Mom mentioned that she would keep the kids if we wanted to go do something, and DH's smart-aleck comment was, "Let me guess where?" We haven't been without them since my 6 yr old was 18 months old, so I think it will be a fun weekend.

I've never tried Priceline or Hotwire before. I do know there was a website mentioned before that would show what hotels were available on particular days so you would have a better idea of what you might get. Know what it is? Any tips for Priceline or Hotwire?


Cheryl - I looked up Country Inn on Hotel Kingdom, and it's $79 for the nights we need. Still not a bad price though. Thanks for the tip.

We just returned from the Grosvenor Resort right next door to DTD and thought it was very nice and reasonably priced. We got a tower room with a view of Pleasure Island Fireworks for 3 nights and Ultimate Park Hoppers for $700 total. The Wyndham next door has the best bus stops though, but I don't know the pricing.

Wow! I've been playing around with Hotwire and BetterBidding.com, and I'm shocked at the prices. I told DH this may end our ever staying on-site again! I'm looking at what appears to be the DoubleTree for our dates at $43 a night. We're not 100% certain that we're going yet, and I know this hotel may not be available by the time I bid, but I'm just too excited about the prices!

That's a good price for the Doubletree! What's weird is that on Hotwire, the amenities do not show a pool for the Doubletree, but they definately do have a pool! Just keep in mind that this is NOT the Doubletree Guest Suites which is one of the 7 DTD official resorts. This is the Doubletree Club located at the entrance to DTD. It didn't make a difference to us, but to some people it might! We would not hesitate to stay there again. Our room was very tastefully decorated (which can't be said about the outside of this hotel if you've ever seen a picture!) and our room & bathroom were very very clean.
