We're taking a last minute trip next week and still need to book a hotel. Curious if any advice on preferred hotels in the area or maybe deals to save some $ given the reduced travel volume. The amount of hotels in the Orlando area is a bit overwhelming. Any advice is greatly appreciated, as we arrive this Sunday 15th, so I need to move quick.

Thinking it makes since to stay off site since on-site benefits seem to be reduced (unless there's a trick to get a good discount last minute on-site!). That said, we do need to be somewhere close by with a good pool. Regarding budget, if staying on-site we'd typically do value or maybe moderate.

We have park reservations already.

I was surprised by how much hotels were last time I checked. We usually rent a condo or house (if we want the private pool and hot tub). Windsor Hills has the best pool area and LOTS of last minute availability at great rates. We have also enjoyed stays at Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista and The B Resort. Mousesavers usually has some hotel discounts nearby. Condos and condotel properties like Worldquest that usually cater to international guests seem to be much cheaper than the comparable hotels right now. Hope this helps!

Thank you DisMom! WorldQuest looks to be a great value, multiple room suite for cheaper than two beds at Bhotel! Guess they are still hurting since they cater to international? Do you know of anything similar to WorldQuest that caters to international guests I should check out?

Are you renting a car while you are there? Have you considered staying at a timeshare resort property or do you prefer standard hotels? Check the SkyAuction website (www.skyauction.com). If you book thru them, you are NOT required to attend a timeshare presentation. I can see a 2bd/2ba at Mystic Dunes, Sheraton Vistana for $375 for 7 nights. I see a 2bd/2ba Westgate Vacation Villas for $350. For last minute low rates with no timeshare sales pitch, that is who I would use. Good luck!!!

It is too late to book through Skyauction since they are closed weekends and cannot get you a confirmation by Sunday.

Try Airbnb. You will deal directly with owners and reservations can be made today. There is a lot of availability for much less than staying on site. Many condos are available if you want a place that feels like home. Search using the map so you understand where the rental is. Read all the details so you have a better ideal what you are getting, like if pets were allowed in the unit if you have allergies.

Also try Expedia for last minute hotel deals but beware of resort fees.

Make a sure to check covid restrictions for wherever you choose to stay. Many places have closed their hot tubs if that matters to you.

I didn't realize SkyAuction was closed on weekends. Too bad because a 2 bedroom unit under $400 in Sheraton Vistana or Mystic Dunes or Westgate was a GREAT price.

Thank you all for the great tips! The posts above led me down a rabbit hole where I eventually found windsor hills condos/townhomes on VRBO. Got what seemed to be a really good deal, same cost as the hotels with water parks but way more room for us to spread out and it has a washer/dryer. Great pool too & close to the parks. Much thanks! While the parks are different and some magic isn't quite there (mainly kids meeting characters), we certainly are having a blast and seeing way more stuff than last time due to the short waits.

Biggest tip: eat outside at Tony's in MK, you'll get to see non stop cavalcades during your meal. We saw four which was a great use of our lunch :)
