Last Minute Gay Days - Old Key West or Saratoga Springs ?

I am recently single again, and I am thinking how much I would like to be part of Gay Days again. It would be a nice goal to motivate me for the gym and diet.
I already have red Disney shirts, red Mickey hat, the Mickey Rainbow Icon Pin, an Annual Pass, and the Tables in Wonderland Card.

The price for airfare is excellent as of today, like 210 dollars round trip non stop, good time slots available. I'm debating about going alone, if I can't tempt a close friend.

The DVC availability is pretty well taken, except for Saratoga Springs or Old Key West. I have been to both, OKW is a favorite, Saratoga is nice and I like their mini food court offerings. I am thinking of going down Wednesday early morning to Monday Evening, and splurging in a 1 bedroom villa.

Which would be more fun for Gay Days, I am wondering if Downtown Disney will be an advantage to be closer to, as well as closer to the other Downtown Disney Neighbor hotels?

Anyone staying at a DVC OKW or Saratoga Springs? If I could I would book the Beach Club Villas, my favorite for EPCOT and STORM ALONG BAY. But they are pretty well booked.

I just got off the phone with my friend I wanted to tempt to go for Gay Days again, but he is unable to go then.

I'm going to book something tonight for Gay Days, and I think OKW is going to be it, I have loved this resort since the first time my boss let me buy some points off of him.

It would be great to see you and your friends there.

I think I will try for a villa near the Hospitality House.

The airfare went down for some reason within an hour later, to like 187 dollars round trip, non stop, the preferred flight times.

Went for the 1 bedroom Villa, will call tomorrow to see if I can waitlist it to be switched to the Hospitality area.

I asked member services today to set up a waitlist swap for the Hospitality section, and to request as close to the Hospitatliy area in my original reservation.

Also you can get a good rate for Gay Days. $145 a night. I'll be back this year. Getting there Monday and leaving right before the weekend.

You made a great choice. OKW is wonderful and you'll have a great time even if you aren't right at the hospitality house.

SSR is nice too, but for whatever reason I like OKW better.

Im thinking of coming down from NYC area solo and single last minute but its hard to get a room at this point.

I have Disney Vacation Club so Im trying to get a room at Saratoga Springs or Old Key West.

Never been and I'm curious to see whats its like..is it friendly? cruisy? what parties are better than others? is it worth doing the parks as part of the gay days events or should I just go at it alone?

I can only speak from my experience. I go to Gay Days to go to the parks to see the crowds and friends. I haven't done any of the Gay Days parties or anything like that. But from my knowledge Riptide at Typhoon Lagoon is very popular. One of these years I'll make it to Riptide. I find the parks to be friendly and not cruisy. Again, I haven't been to any of the parties so can't speak for those. I say if you can get a place then come down. You can always join us DISers at our meets.
