We are planning to spend the day of my birthday in Disneyland (the 27th), but today we just found out that I don't have to work tomorrow when I thought I did, so...

We are going to go tomorrow too. :hyper:

We're planning to get to DL by opening and do as much as we can until California Adventure opens, then head over there for a few hours before heading home. Yeah, it's a mini-trip, but we still have our all-day Disney plans in a few weeks. :yay:

Edit: Well we went today and spent the first few hours of the day there. :) I took a few pictures too and figured I'd share some:

This is the Matterhorn. Say hi, Matterhorn! You can also kind of see some of the line for the Nemo ride, I think it was more crowded then it looks. This was around 11am I think.

The outside of the Haunted Mansion Holiday. I'd never seen it before and I LOVED it! I thought it was so well-done and .. well, just great. :D

We went there and it was SO crowded and there were SO many people there, and just as we walked by we could hear the announcements that it was temporarily shut down, for whatever reason. :(

We didn't spend a whole lot of time there today, it was just supposed to be for a few hours, but we did so some other stuff. :yay: It just got SO crowded SO early, and neither one of us were really feeling up for fighting the crowds all day. Hopefully the crowds will be a little thinner when we spend next Monday there. :rotfl: :upsidedow

Aww, at least you got to spend some time there !!!

FuzzySulley, I'm wazowskiLOVER:) ... we've got something in common ;)

Yay, I love Monsters Inc.! :goodvibes

I've been to WDW a bunch of times but just did DL for the first time about a year and a half ago, and I was SO excited there was a Monsters Inc. ride there! :rotfl: :yay:

Yeah it doesn't look too bad in the pics, for some reason Tomorrowland was kind of empty. DL itself wasn't too bad, we headed over to California Adventure at around 11ish (I'm pretty sure the Matterhorn picture was taken from the Monorail station), and for some reason it (well it WAS a Saturday, I guess that's enough of a reason) was really crowded there.

The Halloween picture from CA was a picture I took when we went a couple weeks ago, I just stuck it in this thread. :rotfl:

Thanks for the great pics! good eye on that hidden mickey! I would never have seen that:) We will be there in 12 days and I am excited to see all of the fall decorations. Have fun on your next mini trip!

The train conductor on our trip called it the "Autoptopia and the Never ending line to Nemo." Just about fell of the bench when he said that..lol

OMG!!!!
I got to DLR at about 3pm on 10/18 and it was such an incredible day!!!
We went to DCA first, the crowds were decent, not the worst I've seen, but the weather was so incredibly beautiful, nothing could've ruined my day.
I was waiting for the kids to get off the Zephyr when the Play Parade was going by. It was my first time seeing it up close. There were no people standing by me. One of the parade CMs with the squirter leg of the octopus (all of the "floats" squirt the crowd, but some of the squirters are aimed by the CMs) totally squirt one of the sideline CMs right up her front! The poor thing was soaked! It was a cute parade. A lot of fun!
DL was awesome as usual. We did all of the major rides. Didn't go in Fantasyland. Ate some yummy Chicken Tortilla soup at Rancho Del Zocalo. mmmmmm. I found the hidden bathroom in the Plaza Pavillion. It is just one room for men and women so I'll never use it cuz I don't want to look at a urinal. Yuck!
Fantasmic isn't going right now so that is nice cuz you can just cruise around New Orleans Square without all the madness.
Walked right on POTC at about 11pm. YAAAAAYYY!!! since I hadn't been on it since I got back from WDW, I was so glad to ride the "better" POTC again.
All in all it was a magnificent day! I usually don't close the park down, but I truly didn't want to leave.
And I went in Disneyana and bought the Big Fig of Mickey as Anakin Skywalker. My DS wanted it so bad and the Donald as Darth Maul is already sold out so I didn't want to miss the opportunity by waiting for Xmas.
GREAT DAY!!!!!!! Next is MToT on 10/28!!!!:woohoo:

Well I never would have spotted it on my own, I'm sure. I had a little help from a Hidden Mickeys in Disneyland guide book. :ssst: :lmao:

Yay I'm glad you had such a good time! We probably left a little over an hour before you got there. It wasn't the WORST crowds I've ever seen, but for some reason we were just not up for trekking around and battling any crowds come noon-time. We got up at about 5am and stupidly hadn't gone to bed the night before until like 1 or 2. :headache: :lmao:

After we got into DL, we did Pirates (Indiana Jones was closed so we just skipped it), HM Holiday, Splash Mountain (where I was in the front and got SOAKED like I've only ever seen once before - the water at one point came rushing over the sides and I was completely drenched), Big Thunder Railroad, Pinnochio (it was the only Fantasyland ride with hardly any line, haha)... Then we headed to Tomorrowland to try Buzz Lightyear, which was also closed for some reason, and then we checked out Innoventions. After that we figured we'd head over to CA where we did do Soarin and then we got a bite to eat and some coffee (I got an iced Pumpkin Spice latte... which was all right. But my Boyfriend got a Peach Iced tea that was really sweet but really good!). Then it was getting kind of hot and we were already tired so we figured we'd just head home for the day.

I'll definitely plan to go to sleep earlier the night before we go next Monday. :rotfl: :upsidedow

It was pretty hot yesterday. I didn't take a jacket, but my arms were really cold at 11pm, but I didn't buy a jacket. Which I usually do cuz I'm never prepared when I go and am always looking for a reason to buy another Disneyland jacket!!
I hope the weather stays this nice till the end of Oct then cools cuz we need some cool.
Darn I'm working the 27th or I'd go say "Hey".
Let me know when you are coming again.

I didn't bring a jacket either, and when we were waiting outside at 7:30am it was so cold! Of course as soon as the gates opened we speed walked over to IJ and then Pirates, so I was pretty comfortable temperature-wise. Around the time we left it was getting pretty warm, which just made us even more tired, haha.

Not sure when we'll go after the 27th, but I know last year I kept telling my boyfriend I really wanted to go in December and see the holiday decorations, but we never got a chance to go. So if we don't make it November we're definitely going in December this year! :goodvibes
