Last minute changes to ADRs

At the last minute my brother has decide he wants to come with us in August. I already made all our ADRs for a party of 4. Do I have to call and rebook them for 5? Is a party of 5 consider 2 tables or still one? Would they turn us away at the restaurants if our ADR was originally 4 but now there are 5 of us?

This is a fine line.. I wonder if they can just pull a chair up, depending of course on the location and just add that one person to your table.

Maybe you could try calling dining and just asking them the question....check to see if there is availability for a party of 5 for the day and the time you want before you do anything else. If it is, just switch the ADR, as it would take the worry out of it. If not, ask them the restaurant's policy on adding a person to the table....pulling a chair up?

Thanks! I called and was able to rebook all but 2 of my ADRs for the same time. Chef Mickey and LeCellier where completely filled. I'll keep trying and hopefully something will open up soon!
