Our trip for the F&W Festival at the BWV was originally scheduled for October 24th through the 28th. However a last minute work meeting came up that is unfortunately unchangeable during that time. We were so excited to stay close to Epcot for the festival but (as I suspected) there's no availability at all in the Epcot area during that time. I know that it's such a desired area because of the proximity to Epcot so don't get me wrong I'm not shocked or wondering why, or even thinking I can get in off the waitlist. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or advice about a different time to try for the F&W, a last second hail mary of sorts, we know we could just reschedule for next year or a different time, but we were looking forward to F&W.

Hi, I changed our reservations at the BWV last year for Food and Wine to accommodate us seeing the Osbourne lights. I was able to book a few nites and then waitlisted the rest. It did come thru. I went with the 7 day and had a backup resort. I also checked multiple times a day online. Early morning and after 2 pm were my best times to find a day. It is risky. I also divided up my days on the waitlist. I feel that there is a better chance of getting 3 days at a time, then a whole week. But you have to be willing to move to another resort if only half your days come thru.
Good Luck!! My DD and I are staying at the Polynesian next week and decided to add an extra night just last week. I was able to get that extra night at BLT but waitlisted the Polynesian. It came thru this morning!! Joan

In 2013 I had a trip I had to reschedule due to work. I wanted to go the second week of November and nothing was available. It was around the beginning of September. I booked an AP rate BWV studio as a backup, almost $300 a night (yikes!). I waitlisted 5 nights BWV pool/garden plus I stalked the website. Nights 3,4,5 opened on the website pretty quick. Booked it, changed the waitlist. Then night 2 opened up, booked it and changed the waitlist to night 1 only. That was filled about 28 days out. Member Services automatically combined them to 1 reservation. Cancelled the AP room. It all worked out! 75 points vs $1500!

As you can see from the above posts, folks have changed their dates. Keep checking your new dates and I think something will come up!

I am going to be the negative voice on here.

I have had to cancel about that same time of the year twice. And getting an Epcot resort back is VERY difficult. I wound up at SSR both times. (And I cancelled with more notice then it looks like you have)

My suggestion would be to try for either the beginning of the festival (it starts in mid September this year) or the end.

Good Luck!

Something to think about those reservations are very hard to come by and very desirable. You can try renting your reservation and take the money and see if you can put it towards a cash reservation in that area. It might end up costing you at the end of the day but for a small premium you might be able to get what you want. I would not count on having a wait list come through for any more than one maybe two days at the most.

If you can get OKW, the bus ride is really short from there to Epcot.
