Last minute airfare???

Wondering if there has ever been dings for last minute airfare? I am thinking of escaping next weekend down to Orlando and hoping to find an airfare that doesn't break the bank. I know that dings are a random thing, but curious if anyone has any luck 1 week out? I am flying from either Boston or Manchester NH.

Any advice would be great. I know it is a longshot, but why not try, right.

The last couple weeks I noticed Ding's from Cle to MCO for the next 14 days.
In fact early last week there was a Ding for this week. You never know.........
