So, I'm booking a very last-minute trip to WDW next month. Unfortunately, my dates are not flexible, so that's working against me in my airfare hunt. Anyhow, the rates I was looking at last night were in the $500 range (ouch!) so I decided to wait. I checked again this morning, and they went up by about $30. I suspect the price is due to today being the beginning of Labor Day weekend and prices will drop by Monday/Tuesday of next week. I wanted to check this with the transportation experts. Does it seem logical/reasonable to expect the prices to drop on Monday/Tuesday, or should I book now?

Tough one depending where you're located etc. Know what? Try www.hopper.com and have it make a report for your route and see what booking and price advice it gives. Maybe not perfect but a good place to start until you can find out more. It's a big gamble but your best price might be booking a week to a few days before. Good luck! :)

dis guy, I guess it would help if I included the fact that I'm flying from Philly to Orlando at the end of September. Thanks for the link to hopper.com. However, unless I'm looking past it, I don't see any reports that track when to buy for specific dates?

On the main page just enter your departure airport and your arrival (MCO) airport. The next page you see should have a bunch of info about what the low prices on the route are, which airlines fly the route, and there should be a calendar for the next 3-4 months, colour coded to give you an idea of prices over time. There is also some info about the best days to fly and the best days to book a flight.

Try this one, too. It'll show every airline out there and if you choose the calendar option instead of a specific date, you'll see several weeks of fare information. Be sure to select nonstop/number of stops you'll consider.

Best of luck! :)
