We leave on Tuesday for Disney and I'm really starting to stress. I always stress before trips because I feel like I'm forgetting things. I have my packing list and I have started on that. What are some things you forgot? Any last minute advice?
Advil & heartburn medicine. The one item that I can't do without is some kind of grease for my feet (like Vaseline). I get BLISTERS. It may sound messy, but I rub it all over the bottom of my feet, the put my socks & shoes on and go. No more blisters and it's not messy. At the end of the day my socks and shoes are dry.
Nightlight for bathroom, white noise machine, chargers for electronics, clothespin to hold curtain closed, bodyglide, sunglasses, extra contacts, glasses, sunscreen, needle/thread (had to do a swimsuit repair one year, and the sewing kit at resort gift shop was $8!), biteguard (I grind my teeth when sleeping), emergency ponchos, ziploc bags in different sizes, power strip.
Eye drop and sunglasses, I always get back to the hotel and my eyes are dry and burning from the sun, eye drops feel sooo good. I agree with extra lenses too.
Extra tote bag to bring things down to pool area.
Thanks for the tips, none of us wear contacts but I definitely need to get some eye drops. Swimming always irritates my kids eyes. I plan to finish packing today and tomorrow so I have at least a day to think of anything I have forgotten!
Forecast looks good for now, ready to get away from all this rain in Oklahoma! Our weather has been crazy and I'm hoping it doesn't rain too much while we are in Florida!
Chargers for your electronics. We also bring a power strip so we can plug everything in at night. It crazy how many chargers we need. Aspirin(ibuprofen) and heartburn medication is also good to bring. Extra batteries for the camera.
These are the things that we forgot at home and had to purchase at Disney and had sticker shock at the prices. Usually other things that have been forgotten haven't been too expensive to purchase.
If you are at a value resort, we love taking an over the door shoe holder, the one with pockets. We put all our toiletries in it so they aren't on the counter.
We also pack a container with pennies and quarters for the penny machines.
you do know you can go to any first aid station and get medicine for free also bandaid and things like that so if you ever forget something like that do not go out and buy it
The worst thing is running out of medication ... I had to manage over a week with NO painkillers (can't get my prescription in America ... that taught me a lesson I'd NEVER forget! Extra cap (I know I can buy one there but I had 3 and only brought one) - and, believe it or not, a diary and PEN! I'm a writer so I don't know how I forgot that three times in a row! They are packed this time!!!
Even if you could get your medicine there, it's usually a hassle because rarely do you have the script with you. So if your pharmacy is not part of a "National Chain" (CVS, Walgreens, etc..) it can be just as bad.
Most Pharmacies (and subsequently insurance) will allow you to get your "Refill" early if you will be running out while on your vacation. I strongly recommend that you make sure you have it with you. Also if possible "Split" the script and don't keep it all in the same place. (some in your luggage, some in your purse/bag) that way if something happens to one of them (Lost luggage) you are not completely out.
Even if you or your children are not sick now, bring Tylenol cold with you!
Someone else on here recommended bringing a pop up laundry hamper from the $1 store. I haven't done this yet, but will be bringing one this summer.
