We just welcomed an exchange student into our home this past weekend. We did not know it was going to happen until a week ago (long story). We are going to Disney World March 8-15. I bought a ticket for him and added him to MDE. Some of the FP+ that we booked were unavailable.

Has anyone had success calling and getting them to add him to our existing FP+ plans for rides (FoP, SDMT) that are out of FP+? I called DVC and they added him to the ones that were available but not to those.

I would just keep checking for a FP+ for him (a party of one) anytime during your window.

We added an extra day to our stay and I got a FOP for a party of 3 at 34 days out so they are out there. Watch for a change in park hours as well, sometimes that results in additional FP+ times.

Otherwise if you visit often maybe one of the adults would offer up their band so the student can ride.

If you don't have luck prior to your trip, use the refresh method on MDE while in the parks. I think you'll have decent luck obtaining overlapping FPs for a party of one.

I agree with the others, just keep looking, and keep in mind that his FP doesn't have to be at the exact same time as yours. If you all have FOP for 10:00 - 11:00, and you find one for 10:45 - 11:45 for him, that is fine, you can all ride between 10:45 and 11:00.

As others have said, keep checking including refreshing frequently the day of.
We have been able to get most FPs we were looking for the day of. Super popular ones may not come up or not at the times you want, but it does happen.
I doubt calling will make any difference about adding FP for your extra person.

Keep checking, try to get an overlapping FP for a party of one. If that doesn't work, refreshing the app on the day of your visit is your next best shot. Many people have good luck with both of these plans.

If it's 1-2 FP, you *might* have some luck pleading your case to the CM at the attraction (I would NOT count on this and don't advise people use this as a touring strategy but it is always free to ask someone just in case they have a little pixie dust to toss around). This is not likely to work on FoP or Slinky but again, free to ask someone and the worst they can say is "no," in which case you're in the same spot you're in now.

I wouldn't bother calling. If DVC member services couldn't/ didn't do this, then non-DVC guest services isn't likely to. The FP they have access to are pretty much what we have access to, and it wouldn't be fair for them to do this for you and not for anyone else who has a last-minute addition to their trip.

Just after Christmas 2018 - a really busy time of the year - my daughter and I had a planned trip to DisneyWorld. We got all our fastpasses at the 60 day window and were all set for a wonderful time. At the last minute, my husband's business plans changed, and he was able to join us for most of the trip. We did really well getting him fastpasses to match up with ours a couple of days ahead or even the day of. I believe we were able to get him a fastpass to everything we had (at overlapping times so we could ride together) except for FOP. He loves Finding Nemo the Musical though - and was super happy to do that while we rode FOP - LOL! If you just keep checking I think you will be able to get just about all the rides you want for your exchange student. Also, how nice of you to host the student and include them in your Disney trip! Kudos!!

Yeah, alot of time they release bunches as the date approaches. Keep trying till your fingers hurt!
