Last Dec. bounceback Aug. questions...

I have a question about the promotion last December when you could book a bounceback August trip with free dining...

*Did guests only have to stay overnight in WDW one night to qualify for this promotional offer?
*How exactly did it work...I think I had heard that certain resorts had desks set up for this? If you weren't staying at one of these resorts, you could still book the deal by going to one of these desks?

We are going to have a large family soon (we are adopting 2 teens from Russia) so now we will have 5 children! The free dining dates were better than what was offered to the general public this year, since that offer began in early August, I believe. The free dining offer to the general public started in late August this year, so with 5 kids in school, that would not work for us. I know, of course, that they may not offer this bounceback again, but I think I would be willing to make the sacrifice and make a quick trip down myself if it is offered again.

You had to stay 1 night and in your room there was card telling you the number to call. I stayed at Pop which was one of the resorts that it was offered at so I'm not sure if you were staying at a different resort, but I remeber reading that some went to the resort that was offering it and booked it. You had to pay the $200 deposit then.

While in WDW last Dec I booked free dining for my Sept 29th-Oct 7th trip. You had to be staying at least one night in a WDW resort (and they did check, while you were standing there). You could be staying in any resort, but had to go to either the Beach Club or PORS to book (although I read later that some people were able to book by calling some special number on their room phone). You had to book prior to checking out also, I believe. I remember reading posts from several people who tried to book once they got back home and were unable to do so. I know the CM who booked mine told me Disney was surprised at the number of people who flew down there for just a one night stay just to be able to book the free dining.

I'll be there again this Dec and am hoping it might be offered again. It was posted at some of the resorts, but not at CBR, where I was staying. If I hadn't read about it here on the DIS before I left I wouldn't have known about it.

Could you book more than 1 room with this promotion? For example, DH and I are going mid-December this year. Could we also book a room for my parents if they offer this promotion again? Would it have to be at the same resort? Thanks!

Last year you could book one room per adult in the room, you would book one package under each adults name. I don't know how that will change this year.

Thanks for your replies! One more question: were guests using this promotion able to split stay (stay at 2 resorts)? The reason I ask is, my kids really love the pool slides, but we probably couldn't afford 2 rooms for a week at a moderate, so it would be great to stay a few nights at a value and then move up. Would you have to buy another park ticket for each person when you switched resorts, or could they carry this over?

You would have to purchase at least a 1 day ticket for every person in your party for each (hotel) reservation

We did, booked 2 rooms, one under my name and one under hubby's name!!!
