We got up and got the 7:30 MK bus, then the monorail to the Grand Floridian for our character meal. We saw Pinocchio, Geppetto, Alice, the Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins in the lobby. The buffet looked awesome, but we must have all been full from our week because we each only got one plateful!
Then we went back to MK and took the bus to BWV. It was funny to hear someone who had just arrived. He was telling his wife the monorail goes to MK and Epcot, and probably MGM. He had so much information just plain WRONG, he probably had a miserable trip. They were headed to Cape May for the character breakfast and didn't even know how to get there. I could have corrected him 10x over but didn't.
We made a final check of the room (I am completely paranoid about this type of thing) and checked out of room 3121. Left our things with Bell services and headed to DD. Now last year I missed the whole section by the bus stop, so we started there. I ended up making purchases at World of Disney, the christmas store, Disney at HOme, and the open round toy store in the center (bought an Atlantis stamp set; the girls get the stamps, but the box will be PERFECT when DS goes to preschool in the fall for his snacks). DD#2 bought some books at 2Rs Readin' and Ritin'. Also ate at McDonald's during another rainstorm. I had packed our swimsuits in the backpack, but we didn't use them. Back at BWV bought another suitcase for all the crap we bought (!). Left when the TTC driver picked us up and had two uneventful flights home. On the Atlanta-Toledo leg, a woman told my 6 year old "I bet you've been to Disney World". The 6 year old, wearing her Minnie ears while her sister wears her Tigger ears, says "how did you know?" This trip went so well I even had an empty seat next to me on that plane so I could stretch my legs out!
As a follow-up, two items from my shopping spree turned up not working/broken, and Disney is sending replacements for both--I bought a "yawning Mickey" alarm clock --DD#2 starts 1st grade this fall and does NOT wake up well, so she needs a good, loud alarm. Well, the hour hand is loose and won't go above 9 or3! So they are sending me a new one. Also, a Mickey and Minnie wood-look ornament I bought has a missing ear and nose on Mickey, so they are sending me one of those. It was wonderful to not have to send the stuff back!!
Time to start getting those points figured out for next year's trip! I am leaning toward 4 days at VWL and the 3 night cruise!
