Hello fellow Mouselovers! Can someone please explain how show times are listed on the Walt Disney World Website. I looked up Beauty and the Beast on May 3rd and there are no times listed. Maybe they only list them so far ahead? What are your thoughts?

If a new show is going in, when will that start?

Thanks!

I don't know how the show times work on the website, I've never looked. BUT, that date is park of the HUGE cheer competition going on at Disney and my memory says that the Beauty and the Beast theater is used for some of the competitions.

Thanks for that info, but I checked all the way into June and still no times available.

There is a limit to how far ahead they list show time. For example there are no times listed for Festival of the Lion King beyond May and we know this show isn't closing.

There have been plenty of rumors over the years of Beauty and the Beast getting replaced by other shows (e.g., Tangled), but I haven't seen anything legitimate recently. Wouldn't shock me if they decided to go ahead and do so as part of the forthcoming massive overhaul to the park overall, but there hasn't been any scuttlebutt lately. No doubt just a calendar timing thing as noted above.

That show is one of the best things going, and I'd personally evict Ariel (her show, anyway) from DHS long before Belle. Even so, it wouldn't bother me to see either one get replaced with some similar but different show, especially now that both Ariel and Bell have their own attractions going over at MK. The Tangled gang does have a mighty fine bathroom over at MK, but that story is ripe for a show of its own.

Planning for August and it seems like 60-90 days is the outside range for show times, besides fireworks and parades.

I'm just not a fan of this show. I'd never wish it to close for fans, but both Belle and Ariel should be improved to DAK standards, or replaced with something that is up to them.

I love the show, but I'm sure they can find any number of other great musical shows based on Disney films or broadway productions to fill the spot.

Even better would be to have a repertory company rotating through a number of shows each day or each week, with live musicians and everything. The repeatability of visits would be HUGE!

We love the show to bits.

But I'm more than ready for something new. Not everybody at WDW is a first timer. I'm not a local, but after seeing the same show year after year, it's time for something new.

I am a self-described Food Snob - Be Our Guest music is far superior to the repast provided at the restaurant with the same name; I prefer the show.

And if you've ever seen and laughed at the television comedy skit featuring Carol Burnett as Scarlett O'Hara wearing a curtain-rod dress, then looking at the final Beauty & Beast dance number should be all the more amusing. The show is a Busby Berkley-style relic from a theater of the past, as is the theme of Hollywood Studios.

Ariel has two spots - a pretty nice, albeit smaller, theater show (that my child prefers to Beauty & Beast) that is high-tech compared with Beauty & Beast. And Ariel has a new ride. Belle has the Beast Castle (so to speak), she greets at Akershus, and she now has her own interactive show. Seems Rapunzel is the 'popular' princess without anything cool for her. I still don't know why the Riverboat is not rethemed for Tiana from Princess & the Frog with a nearby Beignet and/or Po' Boy concession.....if the Ghost concession works out at Haunted Mansion (i.e., Momento Mori) , why not a bit of VooDoo too.....

We'll be in DHS on May 3. If I miss the chance to see BATB for one last time by one day, I'll be so sad! I adore that show, and especially with so many things closing in DHS I think they should keep the things they have until they start replacing the things that are closed. But, I just checked the app and the website and showtimes were available for 5/3.

Perhaps the existing cast is jumping ship before the end date in order to pursue other opportunities as they say, and they need a couple of subs for the short term.

There is also a casting call for Festival of the Lion King. More likely normal cast rotation. I'll speculate Disney would have kept the current cast for another month or so rather then recast Beauty and the Beast.

Disney could recast and still close the show but I doubt the show will close in May.

From what I've read this show isn't going anywhere.

Star Wars Weekends, celebrity shows are going to be held in the BatB theater during the SW weekends, but the Beauty and Beast show will still be shown in the morning, with a quick turnaround, to get the theater ready for the afternoon Star Wars shows.

Walt Disney World is showing BATB times now from May 3rd onward. I love this show and hope it isn't going anywhere :)
