Last day for Christmas lights on Cinderella castle?

We arrive at WDW on Jan 5. I've been consistently told that that is the last day for Osborne Family Lights at HS. I've asked several different times when I've called about the castle lights and MK decorations in general. I get a different answer every time. Dec 31, Jan 1, Jan 2, Jan 5.
Does anybody know for certain? We are really, really hoping to see the Christmas decorations!

1- Does anybody know for certain?

2- We are really, really hoping to see the Christmas decorations!

1- For "certain," no.

The "Cinderella's Holiday Wish" ceremony, which lights the Castle Dream Lights, will have its last show Dec. 31 at 6:15PM.
BUT, the Dreams Lights on the castle might continue to be turned on for a few nights (up to a week, or so) past that.

2- Look fast.

The Holiday Event Calendar is listing January 6 as the last day for the Dream Lights.:)

But there is always a chance they will leave the Dream Lights up a few days past that.:)

The new marathon course is at mile 5(ish) of the race, when it used to be about mile 10(ish).

Why is that important?

Well, because now a very good portion of the runners are hitting Magic Kingdom before daylight. Last year, the castle was fully lit when the runners came through.

This year (2014 marathon), the course did not change from 2013 and again Magic Kingdom will be early and seen before daylight for a good number of runners. Now, I do not recall seeing the castle lit at any other time during my stay, but maybe I just didn't notice.

If they stop turning the lights on by 1/5 and you still want to see the castle lit while you are there, if you can make it to Magic Kingdom (will not need a park ticket that day as it is free for all spectators) on either the morning of 1/11 or 1/12 for the half or full marathons, my guess is you will be able to see the castle fully lit.

I am really thinking hard about a trip 1/1/15 - 1/6/15. Are chances good that the lights will be up and what about other Christmas decor???
