Apparently, John Lasseter is coming out to WDW for the Food and Wine festival....which I find quite interesting.

Lasseter hasn't spent much time at (or on) WDW since he took his larger role with Disney. I find it interesting he's going to make the trip out in October (and you'd think he's not just there to dine and dash).

I wonder if this is happy coincidence/a way to make some extra $$$ or if it means he's going to turn his attention to WDW, a bit.

He might be visiting the Food and Wine Festival because he does own a vineyard in Northern California.

Very good point.

But his trips to WDW have been pretty few and far between.

Is it true that Lasseter's wine is being sold at Be Our Guest? Without dipping into the abyss that is the MK Alcohol debate, I think that WDW selling Lasseter's wine is a conflict of interest of sorts. If nothing else, it's an unfair advantage, don't you think?

I'm sure he'd call it "synergy". :rolleyes2

Should I be surprised someone from the Finger Lakes (the best wine-making region in America IMO) has an issue with it?

haha! I do love my wine - enough to work at a winery one day per weekend. The perks are terrific! ;)

To answer the first question: Yes.

To answer the second: Probably...but not by strict corporate definitions. The Lasseter vineyard is a family business venture...though I'm sure he discloses his relationship with it to the SEC.

I think there's been enough curiosity from the Disney fans about the winery (and I'd be surprised if it wasn't a big seller) that Disney can plead demand, when talking to the press and public about it.

He is, but I guess you all know that by now, they'll be serving the Lasseter wines at the dinner.
