Good evening fellow DVC members,

I am interested in using my point in Las Vegas. Has anyone used their points (traded out) to stay at one of the resort available in LV? Any help or insight you can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We are going to Las Vegas in August. We had three options, one was to trade our Disney points, two was to trade our other timeshares or three was to just book a hotel on our own because it is so inexpensive to stay in Las Vegas. We decided in the end that we would not trade our timeshares for it and stay at a hotel. So my advice to you is to consider how much time you will be spending at the resort or in your room. Our answer based on prior trips was none. We pretty much crashed there when we couldn't go anymore and we were in our room for sleep and we were out again sightseeing and playing.
If this is your case then you may want to consider if it was worth it to you to trade or to bank your Disney points for a later trip to Disney. If you do decide to go with the timeshare, I hear the Jockey club is supposed to be very nice.
Hope this info. helps.

stay at the Wynn... it is great.

many deals to be had in Vegas, especially if you are flexable (watch out for conferences). August is VERY hot, so you will get a cheap rate... shop the web for specials (air and hotel).

enjoy

I know from Boston its cheaper most of the time to buy airfare with hotel then just airfare for Vegas.

What ever you choose let us know what you end up doing and be interested to know how point trading works out for you if you do it that way.

We just booked vacation packages through Southwest including hotel and the prices were cheaper than anywhere else we could find especially since air fare is a bit higher than normal right now.

Points for Vegas? :confused3

There are so many deals on the internet, wouldn't it be a little more cost effective to pay cash at one of the big casino resorts and use your points for another trip? :confused3 :confused3

(By the way when you get to Vegas, go to the sports book. $5 on Sea Biscuit in the 4th. Thanks! :lmao: :rotfl2: )

We went to LV last month for Dh's birthday.

We spent Wed-Sunday (weekends are much higher in LV) at Thehotel @ Mandalay Bay (1 bedroom Suite 750 sq. ft + best pool in Vegas) and roundtrip air for less than $1100 total.

I booked this on USAirways.com.

We had separate air and hotel booked, but when this deal showed up, we changed our air to our DCL cruise in Sept. and cancelled our room only at Man Bay.

I would wait for a package.
