On my list of must-eats this time is L'Artisan Des Glaces. I want to try the Croque Glace, but not sure what combo of icecream and sauce to try. Any recommendations?

I recommend the white chocolate ice cream with raspberry sauce, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the flavors!

As the PP indicated, there are no losers here, but we tried this in April and enjoyed the two caramel flavors ("Caramel fleur de sel" and "Cinnamon with caramelized pecan") with the caramel sauce, and my wife liked the Milk Chocolate & Orange with chocolate sauce:

Oooooo thank you for this pic with the icecream/sorbet flavors! Are caramel, raspberry and chocolate the sauce flavors available?

It might have been an off day, but we had one with the salted caramel ice cream and it tasted burnt. We ended up throwing most of it away. Sadly I haven't been able to get my hubby back there since then

I tried the salted caramel with chocolate sauce and loved it. There's probably not a losing combination that can be made here though :-).

Oh my goodness it looks so good! The lemon and crispy meringues sounds amazing! I may have to try that one when we go!

Do they let you sample before choosing which ice cream you want? Somehow I've never noticed an ice cream shop in France before. I wonder how I could have missed it. I don't quite understand the picture someone posted above....is that an ice cream sandwich? Is it inside bread?

Yes. The ice cream and sauce are pressed inside a brioche bun

Caramel sauce was available for our visit (with the other two), but I've seen sources indicating that only raspberry and chocolate are available. I don't know if the sauces are seasonal or if they've expanded their sauce menu.

Still: how can you go wrong? It's even fun just watching them put it together!

Do you have to get the bun? Can you just get some ice cream in a bowl? Thanks in advance. I'm going to try to find this place when we go. I don't remember seeing it on our last trip, but it was 2014.

Yes, the ice cream sandwich is just one menu item. They are a traditional ice cream parlor with cones and cups.

The shop is located in the area where the French Bakery used to be before it was expanded and moved

Are they large enough to share between two people? Planning on stopping here on our next trip in September, too, but will pay out of pocket since not a snack credit, and just wondering.

I was not particularly impressed with it either - but the Gelato Martini was really good to say the least - Maybe you could get him to go for that.

For me it's the chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce. SO GOOD

They were for DH and I.

Definitely large enough to share. It's roughly a 5" or 6" diameter brioche roll with a generous scoop of ice cream covered in sauce inside. My wife and I shared it and neither of us wanted more when we were done.

I tried the cinnamon and pecan and didn't like it. The pecans were mushy, and the flavor was a little mild. I just had a scoop, no sauce or anything else. I liked the nieves at La Hacienda much, much better!
