LARRY!! 2 Pros and 2 Newbies Hit WDW Jan/Feb 2012...Update 6/3

Ugh I hate when people rain on your vacation. Joe sounds like a total tool. I hope you will get to have fun without them soon.

Hey! Just found your new TR and am joining in!

Must be so hard to plan a holiday with another couple who are not so much into Disney as you are. I can understand why you are so worried about them having fun but also Chris's point of view too. Some people just don't get it and there is not much you can do to fix that!

The trip so far sounds great. Your ride pics crack me up of Chris sleeping! I just look terrified in most of mine!

Can't wait to hear more.

Well, at least Joe only had one thing to complain about at Ohana. But really? You have to peel your own shrimp? Isn't that the definition of peel and eat shrimp? :confused3

I would have DIED at the CR comment. Not making any assumptions here, but that's like someone with Cadillac taste on a Pinto budget, right? Don't complain about how much money you're spending on a very reasonably priced hotel, but then walk into a swanky hotel and announce that it's more up your alley. Um, then don't complain about what you're spending! :rotfl2: Sorry, I'm ranting here, but what's wrong with POP? We're DVC members, and I've stayed at every resort on Disney property basically, and I LOVE POP! It has nothing to do with what's "your style", it's just people being a pain in the butt. :crazy2:

Okay, I'm done now. princess:

I am soooo mad!! I totally missed you guys, and we were all there at the same time!! We were on the beach and were seated at 9pm for dinner! We were right by the kitchen area so the servers had to pass us no matter where they were going, so we were always being offered food!

Lol oh man those lapu lapus...LOVE THEM!! I will forever treasure my memory of us there!! :goodvibes Except I can't believe they would dare make us peel our shrimp. HA! Seriously? He has to think it's his job to complain and look really hard for SOMETHING if that is all he could come up with. Goof.

We had terrible service at Ohana the one time we went, too! I don't understand it-- it's such a popular restaurant, you think they'd staff it with great, enthusiastic servers! :confused3
Awww glad Sam at least liked Wishes! If you like fireworks, how could you not?!

Wishes from the beach is so fun. It's such a different view. :goodvibes As I looked at your pictures, all I could hear in my head was "Wissssshhhhheeeessssssss.....Wisssshhhheeesssss...Doooo come trueeeeee." :rolleyes1

Ohana is so yummy! I remember you texting me after drinking your Lapu Lapu. You were feeling pretty good. :thumbsup2

I love your pictures from the Poly beach! Seeing the fireworks from there is definitely something I want to do sometime :)

I reallyyyyy want to try a Lapu Lapu...what's not to love about drinking out of a pineapple?!

Ohana sounds soooo good. Between yours and MeMom's reports, I am dying to eat there!

LOL tell me how you really feel! LOL

Yea he's not as bad in regular life but he wasn't very enjoyable on this trip!

Thanks for joining in and welcome!!

I just wanted them to have a good time, love everything, and see why we're so obsessed with WDW. It was a high expectation to have and that's part of the reason I was let down!

Chris lovessss to do his sleeping pose haha he thinks he's so funny!

The problem was, Joe didn't read the menus or do any type of research so he had no idea it was peel and eat shrimp. Not that I'd care either way whether I knew in advance or not but he just had to complain about something.

We were definitely dying at the CR comment. I made sure he knew it was mega expensive to stay there but kept the whole issue of him complaining about the price of Pop to myself. NOTHING is wrong with Pop, we love it there!! Of course there are trips we like to stay in the more "upscale" resorts but Pop suits us just fine and we NEVER complain. It's a different atmosphere there and we love it just like most people do!! I'm not sure what Joe was expecting for $57 a night.

I am soooo mad!! I totally missed you guys, and we were all there at the same time!! We were on the beach and were seated at 9pm for dinner! We were right by the kitchen area so the servers had to pass us no matter where they were going, so we were always being offered food!

We were?! I was too drunk to notice anything haha I couldn't believe how that Lapu Lapu got me! We were over by the window, behind the kitchen so we weren't seated near one another but still, first we were on the beach together and then waited in the waiting area together and we still didn't meet up haha damn!!

Lol oh man those lapu lapus...LOVE THEM!! I will forever treasure my memory of us there!! :goodvibes Except I can't believe they would dare make us peel our shrimp. HA! Seriously? Awwww the picture of us 3 with our lapu lapus is one that I always love to look at!! Good times!!!

Oh he just needed something to complain about!!

We had terrible service at Ohana the one time we went, too! I don't understand it-- it's such a popular restaurant, you think they'd staff it with great, enthusiastic servers! :confused3
Awww glad Sam at least liked Wishes! If you like fireworks, how could you not?!

I agree, it's one of the most popular on property, why the lame servers?! Crazy!

Wishes is amazing so I am happy she liked them!

It's an awesome view, right? I remember trying to send you pics but on my phone they were just horrible lol

Ohana sounds soooo good. Between yours and MeMom's reports, I am dying to eat there!

You really need to try it! If there's time in your schedule then you can also watch the Electric Water Pageant. Soooo relaxing!

You need to try both the lapu lapu and Ohana, you're missing amazing life experiences!!! lol

you weren't the loud lady drunk at the bar were you??? LMAO

I'm glad you bumped your TR because I missed your last update. I am so glad your friends liked Ohana's. I am always so full on the wings, noodels and salad that I have trouble eating the meat and shrimp. But I'm back on track by the time the bread pudding comes. :thumbsup2

I love watching Wishes from the Poly beach. It's lovely!

$57 a night for Pop? Wow? :faint" That's awesome!

No one is surprised at this point that I haven’t updated in quite some time!! Let me fill you all in on some things that have been going on! First, if you’re not subbed to my Disneymoon PTR I’ll tell you that a lot has been going on on the wedding front including me picking up my dress, ADRs have been made as well as several other special, exciting things to make this trip standout from any other. On the non-wedding front, Chris and I were in Atlantic City, NJ Thursday and Friday night. All day Friday I attended a workshop to become a licensed zumba instructor which I now am! I’m so excited and ready to begin teaching some classes! Well enough of that, them be continue with this TR so maybe I can finish it before October! Haha

We are now up to day 3 of this trip. The phone rang with Stitch waking me up at 8:30. We got ready and Chris and I went down to the food court to have some breakfast. Sam and Joe weren’t ready yet so they stayed behind to finish up. I took some pictures of the lovely Pop on the way over to Classic Hall.

The progress of Art of Animation as of February 2…crazy that it just opened last week!

Chris and I had brought bagels with us to eat for breakfast that morning so we toasted them and grabbed some drinks. Before we’d even sat down, Sam and Joe had finished getting ready so they met us in Classic Hall and ordered their breakfast with the DDP.

011.jpg

They enjoyed their waffles! Once we finished, we walked through Everything Pop and out to the bus stop where we waited no time at all for a bus to come to take us to Epcot! We got on the bus at 10:15 and in no time the “Imagination” music began and we pulled into the park! YAY!

I couldn’t even wait until we were IN the park to take the first picture of “the ball” haha
012.jpg

Quickly, we went through bag check and there were some lines at the turnstiles that only held us up just a bit.

013.jpg

Why are Disney fountains so pretty?!?
015.jpg

Our first order of business was to get Test Track FPs! I knew that would appeal much more to Joe and even Chris so that’s where we went first.

016.jpg

017.jpg

I HOPEEEEEEE with every bit of my being this is open by the time we’re there for our honeymoon. They’re saying the end of November right now but I’m just praying it will at least soft open before November 10!!
018.jpg

FPs in hand, we headed over to Mission:Space as it’s so close to Test Track. Unfortunately for Chris, I get motion sickness on the orange side and Joe gets motion sickness on the friggen monorail it seems so we stuck to the green side.

Our TT FPs weren’t good still so we headed to Innoventions.
027.jpg

Sam and Joe weren’t very interested in this so they went to find a bathroom. Chris on the other hand loves it in here and did the thing where you put yourself in a video game and then you get to play it at the end. It was really cool and would be a great way to beat the heat in the hot summer months in WDW!

Oh God, I was PALE!!
028.jpg

When he was done, Sam and Joe were back and we still had time before we could ride TT so we all played “Where’s the Fire?” Chris and I have done it before and thought it was really cute but I don’t think Sam and Joe liked it. Oh well!
029.jpg

031.jpg

032.jpg

After Innoventions, Club Cool was calling our names!
024.jpg

We killed the last bit of time we had before using our FPs tasting some yummy (and not so yummy, we got Joe to drink Beverly!! Haha) colas.
025.jpg

Next up: Test Track!
With our FPs we didn’t have to wait long. I wonder what the new queue will look like?
034.jpg

035.jpg

Anddddd our redneck picture lol
036.jpg

Chris’ favorite part of WDW lol…
037.jpg

038.jpg

I definitely will buy these for my children in the future!
039.jpg

We had one more major thing to hit in Future World…obviously, Soarin! Clearly at 12:30 in the afternoon there was no way we were waiting stand by so we again grabbed FPs with intentions to use them later in the day!

you weren't the loud lady drunk at the bar were you??? LMAO

:lmao: I very well may have been!

I was so happy they liked it too. I do the same thing! I always try to remind myself to pace myself with the noodles, wings, etc. that I can only eat a few pieces of meat and shrimp. The "appetizers" are just too good! THere's ALWAYS room for bread pudding lol

Isn't that such a wonderful, relaxing thing to do? I hope to be able to do it again on our Disneymoon and hoepfully catch the EWP too.

It was an AP rate, soooo cheap!

It sounds like everything on your Disneymoon PTR is coming together. That's so exciting. :goodvibes

I can't believe AoA is open already too! I feel like they just announced that hotel.

I will cross my fingers and do my dance that Test Track is in soft opening for you in November.

Isn't it crazy AoA is open?? I still have pictures of the abandoned old buildings, with the big numbers in front of what was supposed to be the hall!

Ahhh, I LOVE the music on the bus that plays when you enter the park. As soon as I read about you hearing that "Imagination" music, it popped into my head. it!!

Wow, I had no idea TT was going to be closed for that long! I really, really hope you guys get some honeymoon pixie dust and at least get a soft opening. Fingers crossed! :goodvibes

We are looking forward to walking across the bridge to check out Art of Animation in three weeks. :thumbsup2

No matter how many times you've heard it, it always sounds great to hear the music on the bus that is unique to whichever park you are driving into. ::yes::

Disney fountains are extra special, aren't they?

I hope you get a soft opening of Test Track, too. Maybe you will get some wedding pixie dust. :wizard:

I cannot wait to check out AoA in person! It looks so neat.

As you know, Fiance is so sad that TT is going to be closed during our honeymoon. I just hope the changes to it are good!!

Oh Mission Space.. Every time I see pictures of it, I can't help but think of our night at Epcot. And the guys walked by us like 5 times before we noticed! :rotfl:

I'm hoping Test Track opens a little early in November too! I can't believe I'll miss it by a week if it doesn't open early! :scared1:

Mmm I love Club Cool, it's so crowded in there though! Haha, did Joe enjoy his Beverly?

Yay Epcot!!! I hope that you do realize that you were VERY successful in making Epcot really, REALLY enjoyable for me for once. If you recall, every other trip I have been on, Epcot is always the day when everyone is the crabbiest and what not, and it was really great with you and Lauren! IDK if I ever told you that. lol :goodvibes

K end cheesy talk!!

Have you taught your own Zumba class yet?! Yay being certified!!

Isn't TT so fabulous? I really love it. Can't wait for the updates. Although they might not be quite as awesome as my dream. :rotfl:

I love Innovations to kill some time...or see if fevers will go down. Whatever. It's so nice to explore that stuff. I wish I could find the paper Landon and I made. At least I still have mine and Chris' rollercoaster...but that's not as fun at home!!
