Larger sized people on rides/attractions

Do larger sized people (pooh bear types) have any problems fitting on any of the rides/attractions? Last year I went to Busch Gardens and rode the safari jeep ride and my larger backside lapped over the tiny little preformed seats. I managed (I'm not really huge, just semi-huge). Got buckled up and everything, but it was humiliating. Although, with current diet, hopefully I will be much, much, smaller by the time I make it to WDW. I'm working hard on it. :cool1: :bounce:

My DH is a bit "rotund" (and I say that lovingly) and never has had a problem :flower:

I know just what you mean. I didn't think I was that huge until I tried to ride TOP dragster at Cedarpoint a year ago and it was just so uncomfortable to get buckled in. I felt so humiliated that all I wanted to do is just leave the park. I think the girl actually was struggling to get me buckled in.

But diet and fail seems to be the pattern for me and it's all in the pooh bear section. But good news: I haven't felt that way a single time since I have been here WDW. I think the tightest thing to endure was Star Tours and the seat belts stretch pretty far.

So all around WDW can be a BIG ego boost for those us who are not the perfect size 10 and it really is the happiest place on earth. Good luck :wizard: in reaching your goals. Feeling better about yourself is the best reward of them all!!!!

What is the Pooh bear section?

We had many pooh-sized people in our party of 13 and there were absolutely no problems. Disney is very "pooh-sized friendly". Go and have a wonderful time with no worries!

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so relieved!

I have gained some weight myself and I was worried about this too. Thanks for being brave and asking.

Is this for all rides? My husband and I are overweight and when we go to great america some of the rides like batman and stuff he doesn't fit on. Is this a worry at wdw? I hope not it is so embarassing

well i guess i am pooh plus size and i had no problems at all, i rode everything, the only place where it is a problem in Universal and IOA some of the rides are tight so i just helpd the bags and shopped while the others rode, you will will a blast

The website listed above by jess98ac was extremely helpful!! It definitely put my fears at rest. Thank you so much!

I know this is not at the parks but I could not fit in Virtual Space Mountian at DQ but I have never had trouble fitting into anthing at the 4 Main Parks.

I've noticed from other sites that Disney has a lot of bench type seats. That's a wonderful thing if you are a Pooh-sized person. What about on the buses that run from the resorts? I usually have a problem with leg room on buses (school type buses).

Thank you for asking the question. I've been scared of the same thing. Now you have eased my mind alot.

I will admit it, I am Pooh size too! The only ride I can remember having trouble in was Prime Evil Whirl at Animal Kingdom. The lap bar comes down in to your lap and was really tight. I didn't enjoy the ride because the bar was hurting me a little. I am 6'-0" and wear a 44 pant, so if you are a pooh size like me you might stay clear of this one. Other then that I can't think of any other rides I couldn't go on or felt embaressed to ride. So, don't worry you will have a great time riding Disney rides!!

For the person asking about the buses, they are not as compact as school buses. There are also two sets of seats (one in the front and one in the back) that face towards the middle of the bus) so if you feel too crowded in the traditional front facing seats, you could sit there and be fine.

Another positive note about fitting into the rides. I was there in Oct. and rode almost everything. I was very concerned myself but felt a little better about it once I read the reviews @ www.allearsnet.com I did see one person that couldn't fit on the Space Mountain seat. I would say the guy was just under 6 feet tall and weighed well over 300 lbs. He just couldn't get the bar to go down over his frame. I felt very bad for the guy because I know he had to be embarrassed. That was the only incident I saw.
