I'm kind of at a loss. We are doing a large multi-generational trip to Orlando (15 members). One day we are going to Disney Springs and we wanted to get a reservation at Homecomin. Due to our size, they want us to do a preset menu with an event coordinator. We have eaten with 12 there before so it is a little off putting - especially since we planned to split and share food as needed since the servings are so large.

Has anyone heard of this? To me, 15 is not that large. We can eat that size in our hometown without issues.

Any ideas on where else we could eat and order off the menu?

You might need to split into 2 groups and just request to sit near each other. Covid restrictions are making things harder for large parties.

Restaurants in our area wouldn't seat parties larger than 6 for a while. I really don't find it shocking. I think the fear is that multi party groups will be seated together maskless for an hour or more. Your group might be all one bubble, but they likely don't want some groups mixing if they can avoid it.

We got a reservation at City Works. They were super nice. We have 2 reservations and they will try to sit us together.

We tried to do the split reservations at Homecomin and she wasn't hearing it. We always eat at Homecoming on our trips but we will give City Works a try!

We had 21 at Ragland pre COVID.

15 is large for most people and COVID restrictions make large groups hard. Maybe the planner was a way to help you manage the party easier? Space and layout come into play. Past experiences don’t matter right now with COVID and they may have certain restrictions that are determined by the restaurant or business. Good luck.

I think the issue was that their website states you don’t need a event planner for parties under 25. We were told that the info on their website is incorrect.
The preset price is $55/per person including kids.We don’t eat app, entree and dessert for lunch.
We will just eat somewhere else this trip and go back when we have just our family of 5 on our next trip. Just sucks as I wanted to eat the thigh high honey biscuits 😃
