We are planning a trip next year for 15 people and have decided to try the DDP. We have never used the dining plan and have a few questions about how the meal credits are deducted from your card. We will have four rooms and I believe that each room card will have dining credits. If we all have dinner together, how are the dining credits deducted from each room card? Will it be hard to keep tract of the dining credits associated with each room with a large group dining together? Hope this isn't too confusing!

I think it's done per person/per card - so I guess (someone correct me if I am wrong) that each person will present his/her card each time after dining for deduction of DP credit for that meal.

We keep our receipts from the DP until we check out just to make sure there's no mistakes.

We went in March with 14 people on the DDP in 3 rooms. At each Table Service meal we told the server before hand that there were 3 rooms. At the end of the meal each room gave one card and as long as the numbers added up (each key card has how many people are on the DDP and if they are adults or children). There was never an issue. For two meals we even had someone who paid OOP with us and they just put him on his own bill. Just let them know when you sit down, and you should have no problems. If you need recommendations on places to eat with a large group, I can let you know where we ate. Had no problems with the DDP and a large group.

Have a fun trip

Thanks for the info! I would love to know where you ate with your large group.

We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridan with Cinderella. reservations for 8 pm, not at all crowded. Food was alright, Character Interaction was Awesome. They had no problem with the way our Dinning plan was set up.

Breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK. Ressies for 8:10 am. The kids in the party loved it, but the adults thought it was a little hectic. The food was good, Characters good. It was a little crowded, and the tables were really close together (other parties tables). They had no problems with the DDP setup.

Breakfast at Tusker house in AK. Ressies or 8:20 am. We arrived about 15 minutes late and they still sat us in less than 15 min. The food was really good, and the characters were great. Not at all crowded, tables are a little close. They have large tables that our party only took 2 tables. This meal we had an additional OOP person in our party. They had no problem with the DDP setup plus our OOP.

Dinner at Garden Grill in EPCOT. Ressies for 4:40 pm. Food was awesome, characters were great. The restaurant revolves which is cool. The server was really good. She had no problems with our DDP setup plus the additional OOP.

I hope this helps. We had 2 kids and 3 infants so we did a lot of Character meals. If you need any more info please let me know.

Hi :welcome:

The number of people per room, are listed on the card... 2 Adult, 2 Children, etc.
The people sharing a room, all have access to the dining credits. Credits are pooled.
One person from each room will need to present their card.
When you receive your receipt, the remaining credits will be listed. (Always check to make sure it is correct.)

I'm not sure if you are already aware, but... with 15 people, you quailify as a "Grand Gathering." Special options to parties over 8. Much of what they offer does cost extra $$$, but you might want to look into. They will also link your reservations together, so your rooms will be located near each other.
