Large Fire In San Diego: Not a good DLR day.

ok, i think i'm safe in my house for the time being but tomorrow may be a different story. Thanks for all your concerns. :):)

Prayers and good thoughts to all on West Coast from this East Coast Girl to.

Good luck to all the West Coast from this tornado alley girl. I have been glued to the tv. This is so sad. I have a firefighter friend that I am sure is working the fire. Stay safe everyone. :grouphug:

I am also in So Cal (Orange County).

Tough day. We evacuated our office today. Scary!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I hope and pray that all homes that are threatened make it OK. I had stress having to pack up the office, but it's nothing like your home. It's better to leave behind a workplace (after packing servers and files into cars) than to leave behind homes!

I pray that everyone is safe, and has their family and pets with them!

:goodvibes

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all having to deal with these fires. I can't imagine what you all are going through, with living in the Midwest.
Be safe. Take care.
Hugs and Pixie Dust coming your way!

Once again, thanks for all your kind wishes everyone! If anyone is getting any rain, bring it this way pronto! ;)

Stay safe everyone out west. I have been worried about all my west coast friends. pixiedust:

Though Disneyland is not near enough to the fires to be threatened, if it is windy you can be sure there is alot of smoke and ash in the air. I was at DLR last night and when I got home I had black junk in my eyes, hair, face......you get the picture....ewwwwwww, it is an asthmatics nightmare outside right now where I live and it is due to the fires and the strong winds blowing everything around, but we have come to know this is a normal fall around here, as I recall the last two falls have been windy and smoke filled. Big hugs  to all our friends that live near the fires!!! It is very scary, I have been listening to the radio and all the evacuations and road closures, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was at DLR on Sunday and it was very hazy and windy with a lot of particles of ash and dirt flying around. We were having problems when the gusts (which were pretty strong and constant) would blow because stuff would get in our eyes. The cast members were having lots of problems too! I am an asthmatic and was sucking on my inhaler all day. I believe that it is the Irvine fire that is affecting the parks.

Thanks.

At least we don't have tornadoes. Woot! lol

Yes I hope you all are ok over there! Some lady who lost the malibu castle worth 17 million in value!!! It was about to be sold this friday before the fire.

I'm out in Huntington Beach but when these Santa Ana winds hit everything has to blow out this way. I think what smoke smell and ash would end up affecting DL and out my way is that from Lake Arrowhead/Running Springs areas. Malibu is to far from here and so is Saugus/Canyon Country..as well as San Diego. Irvine is the wrong direction for it affect DL. It is gross out though and soooooo not a time to be outside anywhere here in So. Cali. The school my sons go had to cancel the literacy picnic we do at this time of year that was scheduled for tomorrow. We will be doing in on Nov 7th now instead. I'm glad they did that though cause even if the wind stops the air will still be bad. This wind has been pretty scary. I'm a born and raised So. Cali girl so I'm used to Santa Anas but these are just really worse then I can remember in a long time with how the gusts have been. Its been non stop since Sunday morning. :sad1: Neighbors tree went down Sunday evening and when I took the kids to school yesterday, 3 large trees at the park we walk through were down. Thankfully it was during the night and not when we are all taking the kids to school since most of us go that way to get them to the school. The way the fires are, its beginning to be worse then it was a few years ago with those really bad ones like this all over So. Cali. We had things in the yard covered in ash that time. I'm just waiting for it to happen again. I know hubby came home yesterday from work and has to work outside alot of times no matter what...he wiped his face with a wet paper towel and it was black from all the dirt and ash in the air. yuck....
Those that are really close to the fires stay safe and leave if you have to.

i just got off the phone with my mom and my aunt lives in san diego by ocean beach she said the schools and banks were closed down but as of right now my aunt is still in her home she is just not able to work i really hope all goes well its so bad there

pixiedust: Sending all of my Pixie Dust over to everyone in CA. Hope those who had to evacuate go home soon. pixiedust: :grouphug:
Wishing on a shooting star for some rain out there! :grouphug:

the wind has shifted for now and we are not covered in smoke anymore, however the air quality is still terrible. We are in a valley surrounded by hills and it lingers here. The wind is still horrible!! So far no damage at our house, except for one small lemon tree. Nothing compared to what others have suffered and lost! I am staying home today, my allergies are really bad.

Malibu is not far, and I will miss the landmark castle! :sad2:

Hope these winds will die down soon, with them it is extremely hard to fight the fires, and we will see some rain!
