Can you get a Lapu Lapu drink from Ohana if you are not dining at Ohana --maybe in a nearby bar in the Poly?? We were going to have dinner at Ohana, but now are rethinking our ADR's, but I would LOVE to join the lady lushes of the world an partake in 1 or 2

Yes. The lounge outside Ohana serves them.

Besides Tambu Lounge you can also order a Lapu Lapu at Kona where the food is wonderful!

Definately the Tambu lounge- you can even have a small appetizer with them. Nibble a littel bit, then head out to the beach & fine a hammock to relax in...simply heaven. Just a little warning- don't try to drink more than one of these

Okay, dumb question. I know the Lapu Lapu is served in a pineapple - but what are the ingredients? Also, does it taste alcoholic or does it "sneak" up on you? Thanks much!

The taste doesn't "sneak" up on you, the Bacardi 151 does. I have never tasted the alcohol.

Last trip I had 1/2 a Lapu Lapu and staggered back to the Monorail.

I had two of these drinks one time and believed I could drive the monorail!

We go every year for one and bring others who have never tried. Just love the presentation. Such a vacation sort of drink and a must!

i had my first lapu lapu 2 weeks ago followed by a back scratcher, wow!!!! i was feeling good all night.

As mentioned, you can get a Lapu Lapu at the Tambu lounge in the front of 'Ohana or right next door at the Kona Cafe. I can not say enough good things about the food at Kona. Everything was wonderful. I had two Lapu Lapus and the wife had one. Delicious and strong, but even with the 151 in it, you don't get the overpowering alcohol taste.

I ordered a Lapu Lapu to-go at the Tambu Lounge because we wanted to walk out and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. To my surprise, even to-go, my drink was served in a pineapple!

ROFL...laughing my &#& off...we actually have before AND after pictures of LapuLapu's AND backscratchers (we have been there soooo many times we have about a dozen backscratchers). I LOVE the LapuLapu's...as a side note we were staying Poly concierge and could not get them through room service , but called ahead to the lounge and did TAKEOUT Enjoy your trip!!!
