Laptop?

Do you bring a laptop with you to the resorts? If so, where do you keep it while you're in the parks?

I have a 15" macbook and I'm staying at PoP, some say it will fit in the safe, some say it won't.

Yes I bring my macbook. I don't know if it fits in the safe or not. I just hide it in the room. I hide it well, but it's not locked up. I suppose if someone in housekeeping wanted to spend the time and effort, they could find it, but I figure there's only so much you can do. I make sure to hide the charging cord, though. Hiding the laptop but leaving the cord out is like advertising that there's a laptop hidden somewhere in the room!

I also have a MacBook. I bring it to transfer pictures each night, so I don't get the dreaded no more storage alert. Plus, I'm also afraid of losing my phone and/or camera (though that has never ever happened to me) and not having my pictures backed up.

I, too, just hid it really well.

I bring a laptop and I often just leave it out on the desk. The Disney employees who clean the rooms see hundreds of laptops and other electronic devices in the rooms they clean every year. I assume they have no interest in taking them and risk losing their jobs. But I have put the laptop in a drawer or hidden it in my suitcase, too.

I have a laptop lock, the one with the steel cable that attaches to the lap top, I wrap the cable around a table or desk leg and lock the laptop. Not fool proof of course but it is a deterrent. I am not really worried as I'm sure the staff prefers to keep their jobs over the temptation of my 5 year old hp laptop :) My husband has been known to cover the laptop with books and things so it isn't in plain sight. His concern is more that housekeeping will leave the door open while they are cleaning and someone walking by will see the laptop and snag it.

I usually put it back in my suitcase, but that's more about wanting to clear off surfaces so housekeeping can clean. I've left it out on the table many times, though.

I take a small 11" laptop or my tablet so I can check email, etc. It fits in the safe just about anywhere. When I have other things that won't fit, I put them into a suitcase and lock the suitcase and position the suitcase so no one can see the lock (and then think something of value might be in there). I might even throw my dirty laundry on top for good measure.

I take my Lenovo 13" yoga or an IPAD, just to check email, IM with my honey and puppy and get on the disboards of course. If I have the IPAD I stick it in the safe but normally leave my kindle out charging on the table. If I have the Yoga, I just stick it in a drawer, more to tidy up than anything. I don't like leaving anything out laying around, not afraid of theft just don't like clutter. I also don't have them clean my room but every other day most of the time. Since I pick up after myself and there are normally plenty of towels for two days, it's not a big deal.

My concern isn't housekeeping, but other people like you said. :)

I bring mine and lock it in my suitcase! I always have a TSA approve suitcase lock. As PP said, this is mostly because I want to tidy up my things before housekeeping comes.

I always bring my lap top (Mac). I have left it out but since it fit's in the safe - I put it in there (well the last few times at BCV).

My husband always puts his laptop in the safe at Pop, but his laptop is a pretty small one. I'm fairly certain that mine wouldn't fit (mine is a 17" one)

My electronics and plugs usually stay in the suitcase when not in use, but really this is just so I do not forget or leave something. On occasions, I will use a drawer instead of my suitcase, but again everything goes in the drawer so I know where to look.

I know I have put mine in the safe at POP often. When I'm at hotels with no safe big enough, I put in a drawer with dirty clothes covering it or back in bottom of suitcase.

This is at AllStar Spots but the same laptop. Disney does vary their safes at the resorts.

Now that I have an iPad, I don't travel with my laptop anymore, but when I did, I always left it out on the desk. My iPad I usually put in the drawer of the nightstand.

We bring our laptops and leave them on the desk logged off and we have never never had an issue. We consider it a safety measure to upload our photos from each day just in case one of the camera cards malfunction. I put my kindle fire and ipad in the safe.

I use a Kensington lock and chain my laptop to something in the room.
