LaNouba Anyone???

Anyone have a link to the seating chart? (search is down :crazy2:)

http://www.floridaorlandotickets.net/cirque_seat_chart.htm here is a link to the seating chart (this was the best one I could find). As mentioned by others the Cat 2 seats are great because you can see everything without having to look up, there are a lot of arial acts in La Nouba... Section 203/204/205 are great. Although there is not a bad seat in the house. You can also go to Cirquedusoleil.com and they have an interactive seating chart where you click on the section and it will show you a view to the stage from that seat.

As for the original question... another thumbs up here. It took me about 5 years to bite the bullet and go see the show. I was skeptical of the price but after having seen La Nouba I have become a HUGE Cirque fan (thus the screen name)...we have since seen La Nouba countless times, All the Vegas shows, and 4 of the 6 traveling shows (some more than once). We love it. It is just mesmerizing...defeinetly a great evening out in my book.

Absolutely worth every penny. When I went in October I bought the Level 1 seats for about $100 a piece(I think). It was amazing and I would never visit Disney again without seeing the show.

Definitely worth it! We saw it for the second time last month; our boys are also 12 and 9, and they enjoyed it as much as we did. There is so much going on that sometimes you just can't follow all of it.

One nice side effect is that anything else you do seems inexpensive by comparison... ;)

I took DD8 on our last trip after agonizing about the price and I have absolutely no regrets about spending that money. I have been addicted to Cirque for years, but she hadn't seen them. Now she's addicted. :) We sat about halfway back, a bit offcenter and I thought the seats were wonderful - Cirque shows are the type I'd prefer to sit back a bit so I can take as much of it in as possible. Do get there early.

Of all the Cirque shows DH and I have seen, this was our least favorite. It doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion. Kind of disappointing compared to the ones in Las Vegas ('Mystere' is my favorite). But, if you have nothing else to compare it to, you'll probably enjoy it.

There is another thread on here titled "Comments needed on La Nouba" where you can find even more opinions.

This April we'll be seeing it for the 3rd time - can't wait it's great. My youngest DS will be 11yrs old & he's always enjoyed it & told me he's looking forward to seeing it again. It's very unique - also enjoyable to watch after a long day walking in the parks. :flower:

Hi! I, too have been considering going to this , but was also concerned if it is worth the money. DS will be 13.5 when we go and I am not sure if he will truly enjoy it. I know some of you mentioned 11 and 12 year old boys liking it. He does LOVE video games so I was debating whether he would rather just go to DQ for the day or LaNouba. He has been to DQ once and liked it, but that time it was included in our tickets. This time we have AP and it is not included.

I hope the original OP does not mind me posting this here. I was hoping others could give an opinion on a 13.5 year old boy liking La Nouba. ????
Thanks.

Of course, I do not mind you posting here...similar to my question (my two boys are 9 and 12). I am very big on exposing them to lots of different things. However, my choice of "exposure activities" (if you can call them that without alerting DCFS!!) are usually not so dollar-intensive!!

I am leaning towards going for it. I am going to see if we get a tax-refund this year and if we do, then I will have the extra money. We have saved for over a year for this trip and there is not alot of "play" in the budget. I refuse to put it on a credit card!!!

Thanks to all who replied!

We just went in Dec 05 - DS (15) and DD (13) both really enjoyed it and would return to see it again. DH and I found it visually stunning, great music (live, by the way), a wonderful combination of theater, circus, dance and acrobatics. We too purchased the DVD after seeing the show - the only caution about viewing the dvd in advance is that you are indeed seeing the show, so some of the surprise may be taken out of the viewing. But there is so much to watch during the actual show, the DVD is definitely a different experience from the live show.

We sat in section 206, 3rd row up and literally across the aisle from category 1 seats, and found the seats to be fine - I would not have paid an additional $10-20/ticket to be across the aisle from where we were. I would choose to sit about 1/2 way up the theater again. We liked that we didn't have to look up above for some of the events - I would think this is an advantage for the various aerial events. I also like this location because it makes it easier to see the actions taking place at various spots around the stage - there is always more than 1 thing going on at a time in the show!

After viewing, we thought it was worth the ticket price. Enjoy!

This one is less abstract than some of the others - fitting when you consider how many children attend. Some of the theatres in Vegas don't do the style of the show justice, IMO - too large - where the La Nouba theatre manages to keep the intimacy of the traveling shows. I'd rather see the "tent shows" myself - very intimate - and the huge Vegas ones last.

I have seen the Varekai tent show for Cirque de Soleil here in MA and it was absolutely fantastic. . . I sent my parent to see La Nouba at WDW for their 30th wedding anniversary last year, and my Dad still talks about how much he loved it.

I agree. I like the smaller setting. You don't get as distracted as it is a small place and the stage area is so much of the area your in. You get sucked in to it. I really enjoyed it. :goodvibes

All of the Cirque shows are unique and entertaining in their own way. I guess it's good that they are all different, so you get a new experience at each show.

As far as venues go, I remember the theater at La Nouba being bigger than the Mystere theater in Las Vegas. Hmmm... :confused3

My sons both loved the show, and I think it would be a much better choice to go to La Nouba than to DQ. They liked DQ, but they were "amazed" by Cirque. Corteo is just about to open up here in San Jose, and I can't wait to go, as I see the tent every day because we live less than a mile from where it will be showing. I'm so jealous of those of you who have seen Varekai. We rented the video, and I would LOVE to see that one! Maybe it will hit the west coast eventually. I think Cirque is definitely worth the $$$$. I will have to let you know how the "smaller tent feel" compares to the "bigger ampitheater feel" after we go so Corteo soon.

Hi! We will be in WDW July 9-16th and are considering La Nouba this time. Should I order tickets now? Category 2, I presume? How does it work if (God forbid) we don't go? It will be me DH and a 14 year old and 9 year old. I have an AP and had heard that I can get a discount...anyone know? I would like to catch the show this time around. Thanks!

There doesn't seem to be an AP discount at the moment.
The way it works if you don't go is that you don't get a refund. According to their website the tickets are nontransferable as well, though I'm not sure if or how they enforce this.

If you order soon you will have a good seat selection since they go on sale (roughly) 180 days in advance. If you're sure about the trip and seeing La Nouba, yes go ahead and buy them. If you're not sure, better to wait.

Category 2 is fine. Anything in sections 203, 204 or 205 will be a good seat.

Yes, if you are sure you wanna go, go ahead and get the tickets, but they ARE non-refundible, so make sure. If you know you're gonna go, then I think you should get the tickets now and get great seats. Otherwise wait a little longer until you're sure. I'm sure there will still be pretty good seats if you are a little open on your dates for while you are at WDW.

Thanks! We are currently booked at AKL and we already have our park passes, so I should just get the tickets. So there's no AP discount this year for La Nouba? Last year it was ( I think) 25% off. Should've seen it then. :sad1:
