DH, myself and DD will be here shortly. We wanted to enjoy they hydrotherapy pools etc. that we've heard about? Curious... should we book afternoon sessions and how early are we allowed to come in to enjoy the serenity of the pools etc. prior to our scheduled pampering? Also what treatments has anyone experienced and any recommendations? DD wants a massage as she just finished first year University. DH and I just want to explore the spa but I think we have to book something even though we are the ones paying for DD's treatment? All thoughts welcome. Thank you

We did the spa in May and really enjoyed it. I did a massage and my wife did reflexology. Both were really great experiences. We went about an hour early for our service and enjoyed the garden. Seriously though that's probably a bit too long. After about 30 minutes you've done everything and are just relaxing in a chair until your scheduled time.

You do need to book a treatment in order to get into the relaxation area. They used to sell that separately, but no longer do so.

I had the signature KiliKili treatment last year. I had never done anything like that, but it was unique and fantastic! It's was like a massage but with added water spray, very fine mist.

We have been going to Aulani every year since 2012 (it's our home property), and last year was the first time we visited the spa. Why did I wait so long!!! We arrived early and enjoyed all of the steam rooms (the eucalyptus was my favorite!), the showers and the pools. We both had the Lomilomi massage, and it was fantastic! The whole experience was worth every penny, and we will be back on our next trip in 2017.

We book our therapy for 10am, and arrive at 9. That way we can sleep in a bit, and it doesn't kill our whole day. I like to start the day off there rather than running around and having to leave what I'm doing to go to my appointment. My sense is it's quieter in the morning as well.

The Spa is my favorite favorite anywhere. We've been 4 or 5 times to Laniwai and as recently as last week. I've been spa lucky (some really great properties) and figured they were all kind of great fine whatever but Laniwai rises above them. Now, I'm spoiled. My girlfriend says the same thing.

You get a $15 upgrade on the LomiLomi massage if you are DVC and on products but not on any other services. You can arrive 1 hr before and stay as you like after. The Gardens are a treat and as you sit there in quiet relaxation the attendants are so attentive. They offer a choice of hot teas and bring out a zucchini muffin and a protein snack of some kind. There are lots of small touches that really make you feel pampered. Definitely worth the $.

The practitioners are excellent. I've done Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi, & Thai. It runs $170 for a 50 min Lomi Lomi with an upgrade to signature for dvc. Thai is $225 as is deep tissue I believe. The thai practitioners are incredible. Wes is one who is very renowned. You can tell these folks are students of the body not just there to rub you for an hour and get paid.

There is a auto grat of 20 percent.

Wear your swimsuit but take a change of clothes for sure!! They do not have a suit spinner FYI. The Saunas are amazing not your run of the mill steam sauna.

I would book at perhaps 4 and arrive at 3 that way you can be in the garden after sunset for a bit to experience in day and night.

It's exceptional.

ENJOY!

I did a facial with a couple of upgrades. It was heavenly. I scheduled for my friend and me for our last day so we'd be relaxed for the long flight home. We got there about an hour before our treatments, which was more than enough time.

Actually, there is a swimsuit spinner (or was in June) in the ladies locker area. Most convenient.

It's gone now. They said it broke and they aren't sure when or if it will be replaced. I hope they do!

I am so excited to hear this spa is amazing. I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing spa's so I can't wait to compare "amazingness":-)

I was there last week... Suit spinner in the mens. Maybe the best spa I've ever been to (that includes multiple 5 Star spas in the Us and Europe). My wife and I splurged on the "‘Ōhi'a Lehua “Love Story” for Two" Her review is that it may have been her best massage ever.

High on our list for the next trip

Agree! It's hard to go to any other spa after this one and not see the flaws!

We were there in September. I have photos from the spa in my trip report that's in my signature.

DH and I did the couples massage and it was great. Our appointment was for 10am. We got there about 8:45am and used the hydrotherapy gardens for an hour. We felt it was more than enough time for that. It was also relatively quiet at the spa that time of day as well. When we were done, we showered in the locker rooms and went about our day. The showers and toiletries in the locker rooms are awesome.

The suit spinner was not there in the women's locker room back in September, so I just gave my suit to DH and he used it in the men's locker room for me. I actually didn't know about the suit spinners, so I had put the plastic laundry bag from our room inside my bag to store our wet suits.
