Land/sea or 7 day cruise? Help!

We have booked the land/sea package for Sept 26 (DS 7, DS 5, DH and myself). I had wanted to avoid summer crowds etc, but now I'm having second thoughts about taking the boys out of school. So I then thought about doing a 7 day cruise instead at the end of Aug. If we don't go to WDW, then does it not matter that we are going at peak season re crowds? What are other advantages/disadvantages? Hot weather, hurricaine potential, missing the experience of WDW?

The end of August is not considered peak time. Yes, the chance of hurrican increases the closer to the fall you get, but I would not let that keep me from cruising. If you have done WDW already consider the 7-day cruise. It is truly a fabulous vacation and I doubt that you would miss the WDW experience.

At the end of August is when historically DCL has lowered their rates. You might find it worth it to go, since you do not want your children to miss school.

You may want to consider the cost of a 4 day cruise vs 7 day around that time. We cruised over Labor Day 2001. I origionally wanted the 3 day cruise but the 4 day cruise was actually $200 cheaper! The 7 day was also more expensive when you broke down the price per day. We did the 4 day cruise then spent 2 days at WDW. The crowds were fine.
