Land, Sea and Safari September/October 2013

It's the penultimate date at home. Tomorrow aft we drop off the beloved Shih Tzus Huey and Texas at a lovely ladies house called Barbara ( Huey's breeder ) who will be looking after the treasures whilst we are away. Belle our cockerpoo has already gone on her vacation to a friend with 3 children where she will be played with and spoilt!

So Jo has packed everything I laid out in the bags. My goodness she is a wonder at it. I was very surprised she got it all in!

Next stop hotel at London Gatwick! This is not actually far from our house about 40 minutes drive. But we live right by Thames river and have to go over a bridge to travel that direction ( it's a tunnel underneath The Thames back ) and traffic can be very unpredictable in the rush hour morning! Not a way to start a holiday. My Jo has enough stress. So the vacation starts the night before no stress getting to the airport! virgin atlantic do 'twilight check in' so you can check your main luggage the night before if you like ( we do like ) and in the morning it's just hand luggage, security and fun waiting for your flight. I always treat Jo to the oyster and champagne bar once we are through security

Depending on your September dates I think it could totally work out. I'm taking the WBTA that ends Saturday 9/20. I don't plan to be home until Sunday night so could fly up to WDW for the night and have dinner with you and Jo if it works out.

Omg we are dying to do a TA crossing! how nice for you! I have read the atmosphere onboard and the entertainment is great. I think they are really good value too. What an amazing trip you will have now that's one TR I will be gagging to read when you get back. If you do come to WDW you will have to tell us all about it

The prices really aren't bad. They were much less when they first came out but still are less than a 7 night. (Hinting you should join me

Yes us too! Very excited! It's a big day for us we get to meet you and the next day first day of Fastpass+ and my birthday. Pleasure overload! Will keep on touch. We plan to get some tracfones if we do will let you know the number.

Well it's leave day! Today I need to check in online with Virgin Atlantic and finish the packing. Jo is at a meeting in London this morning but back this aft. Then we head to drop off the dogs and on to the airport via Mcdonalds! Start as you mean to go on lol..

Already it's 6am and I am still in bed whilst Jo loads the bags around me on the bed I am in lol...

Cute! I didn't realize that today is the day you go to take the dogs and the airport. I thought that today was the day that you woke up at the airport and were flying out. I guess when you said penultimate day, I misinterpreted it and thought you were heading to the hotel.

For us penultimate is always the day before the plane goes. Even if we stay at an airport hotel, we never check in until midnight because Fran refuses to pick out her toys that she will eventually throw out of the Pram until the day we leave the house.

I hate the days that we leave on trips, they are always so stressful!

No toys out of the pram so far but I did just have a panic call from her on the train into London saying 'check I got my shuffle' ....'I don't remember putting in my shuffle' ....

This will continue during the day as she thinks of things. I will get texts, calls and emails. I will wait until items 'group up' to save the stair lift melting due to over use...

Stair lift is fantastic! Regret not doing it before it would be great for you. It saved us moving! I can't believe how much I use it cannot recommend it enough. HM room will def be great with that. The shuffle is a little mp3 device from Apple that plays music. It's an iPod shuffle. It's tiny about 1 inch square. It's plays the music you load on it album by album or randomly but there no menu choices. Do you have that over there?
