Hi all ! Some of you might have read my trip report for the Sea portion of our trip and here is the Land part!:) We left on the 6th of June (2007) and got into Orlando airport about 4:45p.m. No problems thank goodness! My DBrother -in-law,DSis, and DNephew picked us up at the airport as they drove from Upstate NY. We found them pretty quickly and our bags and then drove to a Days Inn for this night. It was very close to Disney so about a 25 minute drive to the hotel. We unloaded our bags at the hotel and then went to dinner at Denny's. Some of you might remember that night and it poured rain for a few hours! People came in soaked to the skin into the restaurant. They had paper towels to dry off with but it didn't help much. We made it into the restaurant before the downpour and didn't want to leave very quickly. We talked about what we were going to do the next day and we were all excited about being together! We went back to the hotel kinda wet but not as bad as some, and played UNO till about 10 or so. We tried to sleep but I was soooooooooo excited to be going to WDW the next day it was hard to sleep. :cloud9:

Yay New trip report! I'm excited to hear about your trip! Uno is one of the best games ever! I'm glad to read that other people play it too! LOL Thanks for writting! Looking forward to more! :cutie:

Day 1 !!!!:cool1: I woke around 7. We actually woke at 5 by a garbage truck but fell back asleep. We still had some food from the airplane trip the day before so we ate that for breakfast. (a bagel and cin. roll). We got gas and then we drove into Disney World!! I love driving under the sign. It makes you feel so welcome!!:goodvibes We arrived at the Beach Club resort about 9:45 a.m. I met Art the Greeter!!! It is such a pleasure to meet this man. He is so happy and friendly and kind. A treasure for Walt Disney to have! We left our stuff in the car as our rooms weren't ready yet and after we checked in we got our Key to the World cards we were all set to go off and play!! We decided to go to Epcot this day as it is very close to the Beach Club Resort! You enter at the international gateway near Canada. It feels like you are coming in the back way. We started at Figment of your imagination! Now for some of you this ride might seem kiddie like but it is one of my favorite rides as I like the song and we all love dragons! It was already hot outside so when we were done at Figment we played in the fountains right outside. It cooled us down a bit but we didn't get soaked just a little wet. My DD and I like pin trading so we went to buy a starter set and then off to Club Cool to try the free soft drinks. Some of these taste pretty weird!:confused3 This was June 7th and pretty crowded. We went to the Land and got some lunch. A good place to eat if you want something quick and everyone can choose their own thing to eat. My Nephew is a vegetarian so this was a good choice for him. After lunch we went on the Land boat ride. We waited 20 minutes but it moved quickly. A nice ride about ecological things and how they are trying new ways to grow things. More on next post!

Day 1 con't... We went to Test Track next and waited again in line for about 35 minutes. Waiting in line here is ok as there are great car things to look at. If you want to get on faster you can go in the single rider lane or get a fast pass. When we were done with Test Track we went back to check in to our room and unpack a bit. We were in one of the farthest room from the check in but got used to walking down the corridors to our room. Since we were on the Land/Sea package we used this time to check in for the cruise. They take all your paper work so you can just walk on to the boat when they start boarding!:) We used up a lot of time at the hotel getting our refillable mugs and unpacking and just ralaxing for a few minute that it was almost time for dinner. We went to the Boardwalk for dinner and found food everyone would eat. When we got back a thunderstorm moved in and we waited it out in our hotel. It stopped Thundering and Lightning but still drizzled on and off for the Illuminations at Epcot. They still had it and I just LOVE the music for it. It always makes me feel good inside! On our way back into Epcot we got after hours bracelets so after Illuminations we went to wait in line for Soarin'. This is a great ride and you will not forget your first time!! I am nervous about heights and I am prone to motion sickness but I absolutely LOVED this ride! There was a couple of times I closed my eyes but then enjoyed the times they were open!! We were all tired and went back to the resort for sleep! More on next post!...:goodvibes

Day 2.. After some much needed sleep we slept in till 8! I guess we were tired from walking around all day. Today was MGM day!! :cool1: We got breakfast from the Marketplace right inside the Beach Club. It has some pastries, cereal, fruit and yogurt. A quick breakfast. We took the boat from the lighthouse to MGM studios. They stop at the Swan and Dolphin hotels. Then off to the MGM Studios! I had never been here so I was excited to go! It was also Star Wars weekend and VERY crowded. We didn't wait in any lines for autographs or pictures but got to see the characters from afar. We first went to Indiana Jones. We waited in the standing room only but many of us in that line got to sit if not all of us. We sat all the way to the left and I think I would have liked all the way to the right better for the big boulder coming down. Other than that it didn't matter where you sat. If you want to be an extra sit up front and they might choose you! Those people had fun up there! We didn't wait too long in this line to get in but it was a wait. We then went to Muppets 3D. Now I just LOVE the Muppets and I really liked this show. It was fun and relaxing and again we didn't wait long in this line. I think everyone else was standing waiting for autographs!:) We looked around the shop after and then off to the back lot tour! The CM cut the line off as two out of the 7 of us were through it so the rest of us got to go in! Yeah! I liked this as there are some interesting things to see so I thought it was worth it. Catastrophe Canyon was fun too. We were hot after this ride and went to find a drink. We had a 3:30 reservation at Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic package so we went to look at pins and got to shop in the special Star Wars shop where we got some fun things like special edition pins. We went to the Narnia attraction and then watched the 3 o'clock parade. We then went to wait till they let us in for FOOD!! Hollywood and Vine was fine for us. It is a buffet with drinks served to you. Since it was so hot it was a nice break at that time of day even though that was our dinner. Everyone found something they liked to eat and the variety and quality I thought was good. We decided to go back to the hotel to relax for awhile. I like the boat ride part between the park and resort! We 'relaxed for about an hour and a half and then went back to MGM. We went on the Little Mermaid ride and missed the space shuttle going over!:( I had forgotten what time it was going off and I was mad at myself for not getting to see it but such is life.....We then went to see Fantasmic! I was excited as I had never seen this before and we got to go in the back entrance because we had the Fantasmic Package. I would recommend this on crowded days as you only have to get there about 45 minutes before it starts. If you want a better seat get there and hour before. There are concessions and bathroom in case anyone is wondering. It was fantasmic! At least till halfway through and then something happened and the whole show stopped! I was upset but we never did find out what happened. We walked out with everyone else but stayed in the park and went on the Great Movie Ride and if you like movies this was a nice ride. and then back to the hotel. I think we were all disappointed but I guess we got to see some of it!:confused3 more on next post

I forgot to mention that I wore crocs all the first day and because my feet swelled they actually hurt. So. the next day I switched my shoes half way through and that helped. Sorry just a little tidbit. So today Day 3 we were just lazy in the morning. My DSis and I did some laundry and then my DD and I went swimming in the Beach Club pool. IT is a GREAT pool! There is a pirate ship slide and a kiddie slide over by the stairs for it. There is a lazy river and a fun sand sucking place that if you are over 4 feet it is fun. The younger kids might get sucked under the water and it might scare them. This is a nice pool. We only stayed a couple of hours in it and my DSis joined us for abut an hour of it. The guys were all relaxing somewhere. Back to finish the laundry and then we went back to Epcot. We had cheesecake at France for lunch. YUM! and then went to do the American Adventure and MAelstrom in Norway. My DNephew likes to sing so we liked listening to the pre-show of the singers but I cannot remember their name. They talked for awhile to the leader of these singers and we missed the show. We met a man who had been collecting pins for a while and had tons of pins to look at but not to trade. He was fun to talk to. We moved onto Norway. We had to wait for Maelstrom as the bridge went up for the World for Illuminations. It comes from it's storage space and was fun to see as they put it into place for the evening. Some went back to the resort after Norway and some went back to watch the American Adventure. Back to the resort and then we ate at the restaurant inside called the Yacht Club Galley? They had good food here and the guys went to Magic Kingdom and us ladies went to bed.::confused3 We were tired and the guys weren't! Not to mention I needed to pack to go to the Disney Cruise the next day! The guys said the fireworks were good and the parade was fun at Magic Kingdom. Some day I'll make it to see these but it wasn't this trip!. I have posted the Sea part in the Disney Cruise forum and my next post here is from after the cruise my family came back and did two more days at the parks! Happy reading!....

The last 2 days were bittersweet. It was fun of course but we had to say goodbye to my DSis and her family as they were driving back to NY State. They drove us from Port Canaveral to Disney's All Star Movies resort. We unloaded and said our goodbyes. :( We checked in and left our luggage with the luggage people and they would deliver it to our room when it was ready. We filled our mugs and then were off on the Disney transportation to Animal Kingdom! It was a really hot day but we had a good day anyway. We got off the bus and showed our Key to the World Card after baggage checking and then we went to get our fastpass for Mount Everest! We got a 2:40-3:40 fastpass so we went to Dinosaur! Dinosaur had a bit of a wait but we waited and got on about 20 minutes later. This is a really rough ride. You get thrown around quite a bit in the car you ride and it is dark and loud! It was not one of my favorite rides. I am glad we did it and while you wait Bill Nye the Science Guy talks to you and teaches you stuff. We then went to Nemo the Musical. That is a great show and fun to watch. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house but if you want to sit up close get in line really early! I mean 1 to 1 1/2 hours early.

After Nemo we went to the Maharahja Jungle Trek. This is always fun to see live animals. Bats, Tigers, Komodo dragons, Birds, Monkeys, and others. It is also cooler in here with a bunch of shade! It was then time to use our fastpass and wouldn't you know it the ride broke down right when we got in line!ARGH!! The lady said our fastpasses would be good all day so if the ride started working we could use them anytime. We trekked on over to the Safari and waited 65 minutes in line. It was hot and we were all cranky!! My feet started hurting like pins and needles. I thought maybe there was a few ants biting me but I never saw any. We got on and had a GREAT safari. The baby rhino and friends stopped our truck and 4 others and it was fun watching him. We got to see many animals and this was about 3 in the afternoon. Definitely go on this one and I think you always see something! We then walked back and wouldn't you know it----Everest was running! We used our fastpasses (use those fastpasses!) and got right on the ride. My DH and DS got to sit up front! They had a good ride. I sat right behind them but I felt it was a ride that shook my head too much. I leaned back into the seat and if I ever went again I would not do that. It is a good roller coaster and fun! My DD waited for us right where you get off as she doesn't like roller coasters. I was happy we got to go on that ride as it was the only thing my DS really wanted to do at Animal Kingdom! :goodvibes More later!
