Did anyone else happen to catch any of the "Land of the Lost" marathon on Memorial Day?

It's been a long long time since I'd seen this show....wow...brought back a lot of memories. I'd forgotten how cheesy this show was. It was almost addicting...I found myself watching to just see how much worse it could get.

The worst part...I'd forgotten how scary the Sleestaks were!!!:scared1:

I caught it. And seeing the cheesy special effects had me laughing. I used to think this show was so great and all, but dang, you can see the strings in some of those shots. But still good.

I love it. I did not get to see all of them, but I want to watch more. :) I get the theme song stuck in my head.

I loved the opening scene where they are in the raft...so realistic.

I'd forgotten about the little monkey guy...but the Sleestaks still give me the creeps...I've had to sleep with the lights on...since Sleetstaks do not like the light.

My kids thought the "actors" where from the Brady Bunch.

Was "Land of the Lost" the show where the father and his kids are driving along one day and fall into a hole and end up "living in the land of the lost?"

I *swear* there was a show like this when I was younger!

I love in the theme song how they say they fell a thousand feet below. Hehe. Seemed like a lot when I was a kid.

Actually when I was a kid, I thought they went back in time, not on another planet.

My DD19 said the same thing -- thought the kids were Greg and Cindy Brady.

It is a lot! I don't think anyone can survive a thousand foot fall, raft or no. LOL! I did enjoy watching a few episodes during the marathon -- I hadn't seen this show since I was a kid so it was pretty funny to see how cheesy it was. And that ridiculous pyramid thing -- time machine or whatever it was -- what is up with that? Writers lose their minds? LOL!

This guy I work with who is a bit younger than me could not understand why TV execs would want such cheese on their stations. I told him that's just what TV was like back then. Especially with all the Sid & Marty Kroft shows.

I loved this show as a kid!! I'm a little perturbed by the new movie coming out. I love Will Ferrell, but Land of the Lost was not a comedy, no matter how cheesy it was. Those sleestaks were scary! It could have been a great adventure movie but they have turned it into a caricature.

All of the Sid & Marty Krofft shows were cheesy - that's why they were so great.

I'll never forget when I watched the premiere episode of H.R. Pufnstuf. It was the most bizarre thing I'd ever seen and I was entranced even though you knew everything was fake! A boy with a talking flute becoming friends with (what looked like) a giant talking lizard who was the Mayor? Please!

While Land of the Lost was cheesy, I think the cheesiest Krofft show was The Bugaloos. What were they thinking?

I remember this and many other kids shows, especially the Krofts. It seems like all the people creating kids shows back then were really, really high.

Where's the Bugaloos movie?

I mostly remembered the 90's series remake with the Porters. Love Scarface :)

My sister and I watched that every week! I saw the marathon was on, called her and we both watched it all night long...I even tivo'd the channel. My dd who is 13 was totally confused with what we were watching. How can you explain it? LOL! She got drawn into it and now sings the theme song and wants to watch all the episodes :rotfl2: Cheesy TV at its best!!!!!

Darn, darn, darn, darn!!!! I would have loved to have seen this. Sorry that I missed it.

I may want to see the Land of the Lost movie soon.

We discovered it while at the beach. My DH and younger DD were glued to the TV. Now DD knows all the words to the song. IMO, the cheesiest effect was when Holly/Cindy Brady was in the cave/hole and her vine broke, causing her to fall. So cheesey, a pigtailed plaid shirt and jeans wearing Skipper doll tumbling end over end, :lmao:. I used to love Pufenstuff, remember going to the movies to see it!

I totally agree!
