What the heck I'm only in my early 30's what's with all this gray hair. I blame the kids :lmao:
I blamed my DH's grey hairs on the kids (me? what gray hairs? Those are blonde highlights!:lmao: ) Then my darling offfspring:laughing: pointed out that my mom has white hair! :rolleyes1

HRH-- I just stole your chick pictures. I will be emailing them to DD13 who willhave them to her friends and on her myspace page in no time I am sure. Hope that's ok.

LUVMYTINK--We just do what we call the "Chick room shuffle" when entering DD's room at night. You can't see the floor(even with the lights on) so it's just safer that way. Of course she's old enough to do it herself so when it gets too bad I close the door and threaten loss of cell phone/text messaging and it usually gets done, or at least better.

Today I am supposed to be baking the 3 cakes for the Scout dinner tomorrow night--so I can decorate tomorrow. Surprise--I haven't started it! Wish I could:wizard: and they were done. I also found out yesterday that DS may need another patch on his new shirt and I don't have it. Did I mention the scout shop is clear across town? It'll take me an hour to go there/back.:headache::mad: I also have to stop and get another cake board (double:headache: ) and I am still sitting here, disappointed becasue Rachael Ray isn't on due to the President's talk (No, I have no idea what he's saying--I've been catching up on the DIS and even doing some of :laundy: )

So, should I start myy baking now (I could probably get a shower in while one is baking) or should I just sit around on the computer:surfweb: ? (There is still coffee left in the pot but I had to turn it back on to warm up:rolleyes: )

Anyway, IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Her name is Joelle (like Jo and Elle) Lynn. She is now due on July 13th, which really isn't much of a change. The sono lady said everything looks good. Yeah!!!

:cool1:  :yay: :dance3:

Congrats on the GIRL!

I have TWO boys, so I am entitled to make fun!! you know I LOVE EM, actually I wouldn't know WHAT to do with a princess!

Me too! I see those pictures people post from getting their girls all done up at the boutique and I think, "Awww... how cute... thank god I don't have to do that..." :rotfl:

Yes, especially since it runs about $40-50/kiddo? :scared1:

I hope when next year rolls around and you are asked again because "you did such a lovely job last year"..you remember that little life saving word...."NO".

"thank you" following the "No" is optional..

All I had to do for our Blue and Gold was make a passing dish for 15 people..I made Ambrosia, I think it has all of 5 ingredients! I also helped decorate for about an hour, but that was all. We have a real go-getter mom/dad pack leader team, they are always getting things done..(I can't begin to tell you what a winner mom she is, but she is super, super nice.) Our Pinewood Derby is Saturday, so other than not getting to sleep in, all we have to do is show up. They are supplying subs/chips/drinks for lunch, and for dinner, DS9's BB coach is hosting a pizza party at a local restaurant. I will be "cook free" Saturday!!

OK guys..I haven't peeked at any bets, but the Easter junk is off the list for now. I can't throw any more away til I know what I need for Easter. I ended up with a HUGE boxfull of stuffed bunnies, junky toys, etc. I tell ya, it would be enough to make a sane person cry..all the wasted money. I have learned my lesson, the only hokiday clearance I will do from now on is CANDY!! Last year I bought hundreds of plastic eggs on sale for about 25 cents /pack, and I will be holding a huge egg hunt for the 6-8 kids in our cul de sac. Those cheap eggs are gonna cost me alot to stuff. Oh well, the kids like it..

Next up is DS's room..If I don't come back in an hour, send out a search party...make sure you look under the bed!

here's one more...

OK, I am outta here for now...

I still haven't started the baking (or showered!) but I am going there right now!

Fortunately this is our last B&G since DS is (maybe--now he's not sure:confused3 ) moving on to BS (:goodvibes You know that's a good abbreviation for it!:lmao: ) I wish I didn't have to go but it's a big deal in the Pack. I may not have a choice, though, since DD got signed up to swim the 1000yd freestyle at the meet on Fri night and someone has to be there to count! (that's 40 lengths of the pool in case anyone cares--I hope I don't mess up:eek: )

Ok--I am leaving now

no, really, I AM leaving......right after I check my email....:rolleyes1

Thanks guys. We're very excited. We had lots of phone calls to make yesterday. Lots more to do in the next few days as well.

I did give the family guilt trips tho. NO ONE HAS CALLED US SINCE WE SAW/TOLD THEM AT CHRISTMAS!!! We realized this about a month ago. Then I told DH that although we hadn't called anyone and I know the phone works both ways I was NOT calling anyone, and was waiting to see if anyone would call to check on us. No one did. Now everyone feels sufficiently guilty and my phone may start ringing off the hook.

We've had an eventful morning here...

woke up at 9:22AM - yup, kids have to be at school for 8:10AM :headache: Thought about not sending DD as she gets out at 11AM but I figure then I won't get ANYTHING done so I sent her too....at least she won't get an absence :teacher: Off to work for a whole 1.5 hours instead of 3 - at least my boss said "well, you probably needed the sleep" :goodvibes Get home at 11:10AM get dd off - now I have to prep her for a swim date - she's going swimming at the Y with her cousin - I have to say it makes me a little nervous - her in a pool without me or her father around - thats a 1st and she's had 1 course of lessons but she still can't swim on her own. But I have to let her do her own thing sometimes too and the pool is a 4' deep one so she should be fine, but I'll still worry till she's back home. Anyway, she says she's hungry and wants celery with peanut butter - easy, fast, and no cooking required! :woohoo: She bites down and almost knocks her slightly loose tooth out! Now it's bleeding a little and all I can picture is her walking in from her playdate crying because she lost it in the pool, so I send her to brush her teeth  Knocked it out doing that in about 20 seconds :thumbsup2 So now we have a front toothless little girl smiling ear to ear because she will be getting a $2 bill tonight :dance3: This is her 2nd tooth - she lost the 1st LAST WEEK!

Yay for losing a tooth. I remember when I started to lose my teeth...I could hardly wait for them to come out. I would do everything I could to loosen them. I had quite a gap toothed smile for awhile.

I was just sitting here thinking what a good morning I've had.

There was no poop to clean off of the floors or anywhere else. Good day, right?

Then I scroll through the CB to find YET ANOTHER "how old is too old to have a baby" thread.

Ugh.

I'm 41. I had my boys when I was 35 and 39. I don't think that makes me a medical miracle or a freak. Yeah, I know all about the argument for getting pregnant past menopause. I don't have a problem with saying THAT is too old. If mother nature says it is past time to get pregnant, then maybe you should listen. However, the constant "it isn't fair to the child to have a parent that will have health issues and die when they are young" stuff gets to me.

Should obese people not have kids? They are more likely to have health issues and die younger.

Should smokers not have kids? They are more likely to have health issues and die younger.

Should low income people not have kids? They are more likely to have health issues and die younger.

Should people with known disabilities and diseases not have kids?

I could go on, but I won't.

I didn't meet my husband until I was almost 31. We married when I was 33. Why is that a bad thing?

Okay, I'll climb down off my soap box. Sigh.

I'm an old fart too...I figure by having kids later in life I can give them things I could never have given them when I was younger...on the other hand I have a hard time getting off the floor when I play with them.

DS10 lost his LAST baby tooth last night. My baby is growing up:sad1: And then the spacers were hurting this morning. Poor baby.

RVGal dont listen to all that crap, my dad died at 51 leaving behind a 12 and 8 year old boys. He certainly didnt plan on passing so young but he had a massive heart attack. And others will live to be 99. You just have to live life, not worry about what age you are going to be when they graduate HS, just be glad you got them that far, KWIM.

Back from the Dr with my drugs, got BK drive thru for me and DS5 so hopefully the antibiotics wont rip my tummy apart. And I was able to convince DS5 that since he was such a good boy I would get him Dora chocolate. Shhhh it was Dora Valentine chocolate for $.09:woohoo:

Oh, ain't that the truth. My mantra is "Give Mommy a minute". :rotfl:

I try not to listen. Really. I just gets old after awhile. I don't understand why everyone can't accept that there is no "right time" for everyone. There always seems to be that "why aren't you doing what I'm doing, 'cause I'm doing it RIGHT" mentality.

Glad you got some drugs and I hope they kick in quick. Was it a UTI? I get those a LOT.

I feel for you - I'm in the same boat, I'll be 41 next month.

I was 33 when I had DS1 and 38 when I had DS2. My DH and I were high school sweethearts and were married right out of college (we will be celebrating our 18th anniversary on St. Patrick's Day). For 10 long years after our marriage all we heard from friends and family is: "When are you going to have kids?" and we always replied "When we are ready.." - it really irks me when people tell us we should have had them when we were young enough to enjoy them, Come on... Why don't you just wheel me over to the retirement home already.

I always reply that they are keeping me young! :woohoo: Well they are boys so maybe young is not quite the right word - how about... they are keeping me active!

PS... I hate it when DH does "future math" (how old we will be when DS#2 starts driving, goes to college etc.) :scared1:

Well based on my symptoms she gave me the drug but bc I had peed before I left(I never would have made it to the Drs) and then had to drink water when I got there to pee again, I may have diluted the nitrates for the stick test so they are sending for a culture but she is pretty sure since I have pain and all that fun stuff that yes it is UTI.

I think I had one like 2 years ago, and then a few but no I have been pretty lucky or if I do kind of feel like it could be usually I drink some Cran and I am good, which is what I did yesterday but then i woke up at 4 and I was in pain so I figured enough of this and made the appt. She yelled at me to get in for my physicial. Yep as sure as I get everyone else siutated:lmao:

OK, it's my turn on the soapbox..

I had mine at 40 and 42..I CANNOT go over to that thread, it will keep me awake being po'd tonight. There are plusses for both sides of the argument. The perfect world would be that I had them when I was young enough to be able to spring off the floor after playing with them, but financially as well off as I am now to be able to give them everything they need.

Why is it that women are our own worst enemies? We should band together and uplift each other, but it seems like we just want to drag each other down when it comes to topics like this, breastfeeding, SAHM/Working moms..my God ladies we need to help each other, not knock each other over!

I have opinions on extremes in any of these subjects, but I am kind of a live and let live type person.. Heck, when my DBIL divorced after 10 years and then told us he is gay...I hugged him, made a couple of jokes(we are like that) and told him I loved him.,.first time I told him that. What do I care about what other people do with their lives...I have enough to worry about with my own.

Oh, and BTW...I finished matching/putting away the basket of socks..Started on the bedroom and..................................................................................................................

I FOUND THE SHOES!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm going back in to see what else I can find. who knows, maybe Jimmy Hoffa??:rotfl:

I have to agree with you guys about having kids at whatever age you want to.
Just cause you're young doesn't mean crap to me. DH's dad died when he was 27 yrs. old and left a 7 yr old (DH) and a 4 yr. old (DSIL).
We are considered older parents to most of the military community (we were 24 & 25 when we had #1DS) most people are just about 21 when they have kids.
