I'm getting ready to move the twins from their toddler beds to full-size beds. The convertible crib concept seemed like a good idea at the time we bought them, but now I'm cringing as I see the cost of bedding for full-size beds. Maybe twin beds would have been the better route...

Anyway, I am looking at some of the bedding sets, including comforters and pillows, on the Land of Nod website. I got a 10% off promo code for signing up for their emails, but the shipping is outrageous. Has anyone ever known them to offer free shipping? I don't need to place my order immediately, so I'll probably ride it out for a little bit to see if they send anymore emails.

And for those who have purchased their bedding, what do you think of the quality? I like the designs, but the sheets seemed pretty expensive and I think they are only 200-thread count.

Thanks in advance!

We have their Robo sheets on my grandson's bed. They are several years old and have held up well. The quality is very good, but they get pretty wrinkled after washing. I think they do occasionally offer free shipping. Do a search before ordering for any discount codes you may have missed.

I think the full sized beds were a better choice than twin sized, as they'll fit your kids much better as they get older.

We have a full for my son and a twin for my daughter....I don't see any significant price increase for his bedding than hers? Where are you looking? One thing that I will advise is actually to not overspend on bedding for kids - they seem to change a lot in a 2-3 years and redoing their bedrooms is a way to help them share their personality changes.

Buy simple cotton sheets in the target kids section - they clearance out often to add extra savings! We like the ones that feel like t-shirts for fall and spring...

Look at Marshalls and TJ maxx for sheets. I just got great double sheets there for $25 a set. They're a blend so they don't wrinkle but they feel great. They often have really great quilts and comforters there as well. I usually get my kids fun comforters or quilts and they just get regular sheets. A lot of the kids printed sheets just seem really cheap unless you want to spend a lot on them. If you get solid color sheets you can easily change the comforters but not have to change everything else as well. I made that mistake with my daughter by buying her all princess bedding at Pottery Barn and then less than 2 later she decided she hated princesses. Expensive lesson learned.
