Lamplight Lounge Seating Question

If you have a reservation for Lamplight Lounge, can you request to be seated in the Boardwalk area? I'd like to make a reservation, but we prefer to sit outside when possible. And that lower dining area for Lamplight looks kind of dark. I know we can do wait list walk up for Boardwalk dining, but we are going at a very busy time of year so I thought a reservation would be a good idea. Thanks!

I’m not sure if that spot is used except for special events. I could be wrong. If you have a reservation, doesn’t hurt to ask, but I’d show up 15-20 minutes early to ask.

Seating in the main restaurant is pretty good, not as dark as the online pictures make it seem, definitely some great views of the land if you get a lakeside seat

We got seated randomly down there once. We have had reservations there multiple times over multiple trips and have been sat everywhere throughout the restaurant. I'm pretty easy and not sure how open they are to requests.

The upper area is a separate one AFAIK... the lower outside portion was in the shade but I wouldn't say dark. You can ask when you check in for your preferred area. Last time they wanted to put us directly in the sun, so we asked to be moved before we sat down and they took us back to wait a few more min. They won't force you to sit somewhere you are uncomfortable.

I would totally steer you to seating downstairs. It is open-air and definitely not dark during the day - lots of indirect sunlight that reflects off the adjacent lagoon. It’s also cooler on hot days, and they pull down shades to block direct sunlight for patrons who might otherwise bake from the blazing sunlight that can be unrelenting during the mid/late afternoon. The boardwalk menu is extremely limited upstairs - there is a much more extensive selection available in the lounge - you should take a look at the menus online should that be an additional consideration that you might want to take into account regarding your decision. As mentioned above, they will happily accommodate a request to seat you elsewhere should you be unhappy with the original seating that has been assigned to your party - LL rarely seats to capacity downstairs and it does not tend to take much time to accommodate such requests.

We usually request outdoor seating when we check in at LL and have always gotten it, except for one time when we got The Office. The outdoor seating in the main restaurant is not dark and has nice views. Would definitely recommend.

We sat in the outdoor area a couple of weeks ago. It was really nice. I had asked for a table inside because it was hot, but they assured me it was pretty comfortable down there and they were right. (We did walkup so really couldn't be that picky.) We sat right at the end, which had a great view of the lagoon. It was shaded and we weren't hot at all.

Thanks for all the comments....it seems like we can request to be outside so that's helpful. I thought the only outdoor area was on the Boardwalk. Given how busy I anticipate it will be while we are there, I think I'll make a reservation and take my chances.

Following this thread!!! Hoping to sit in the old Cove Bar space but wondering how to do that. The app says it's a walk up wait list but reading above it looks like you can also request it if you make a reservation? I haven't been to this space in years and I am SO EXCITED!!!! Such AMAZING views!!!

Upstairs is now Lamplight Lounge Boardwalk Dining. When you walk onto Pixar Pier, the first Lamplight Lounge entrance will be for the downstairs restaurant (purple arrow). If you keep walking, you'll see the umbrellas for the Lamplight Lounge Boardwalk Dining upstairs. Near the umbrellas (teal arrow) there are CM at a kiosk taking names for the walk up waitlist.
