Laminating Chipboard

Hi!
This may be a crazy question, but I am working on making our own autograph books. I was going to use cardstock for the pages and then chipboard for the covers (so the book would be sturdy to sign autographs.) I was then going to have the pages punched and spiral bound somewhere like Staples.

I wanted to laminate the covers. Is the chipboard too thick to laminate? If so, do you have any better ideas for the covers?

i really don't think that you will be able to laminate the chipboard. maybe if you used a sealer that might work.

It depends on the thickness of the chipboard- if it is only a little thicker than posterboard you can but much thicker than that and it doesn't laminate well. If you do laminate it leave a border of about 1/4 of an inch around it before cutting otherwise lamination on thick things comes off. Another choice would be covering it with clear shelf paper- it isn't the lamination paper that won't stick to something thick but it is sometimes the machine that can't handle the thickness so contact paper would work. Another choice would be using acrylic covers- you can buy these at scrapbook stores or buy acrylic at Home Depot or such and have them cut it to the right size. You can make holes in it with your crop-a-dile.
