Hello. Has anyone ever stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Village & Spa resort? If so, did you like the resort and can you give me a quick review of it please. Thanks!:)

Hey.
I have stayed here 3 times. The last one in 2012.
This hotel are currently (1 Aug 2014) undergoing outside painting and "fix-ups".
...
The good about this hotel :
You will basically get 1 pool by yourself (the square one)...in september.
The balcony.
The great view...we always have a water view...you will get a gorgeous sunrise.
The rooms are "pretty large"
The AC are the quiest i have used in a hotel.
Short walk (4 min) to DTD.
Good Beds
...
The not so good :
The hotel need a refurbishment (currently ongoing).
Beware of the 25$ a night resort fee. (can sometimes be waived if booking true travelzoo,i did,but its currently not there right now,but always pop up again)
...
I have booked 2 rooms in sept 2014.
Hope they done with most of it,by then.
Currently, the roads around the hotel (inc Hotel Plaza blv) are said to be in a "mess" at the moment. They are adding lanes, and building a parking house at DTD. Its said that the 1 min drive true HotelPBLV can take 20-30 min.
...
The insider tip :
They do sell refillable mugs (like disney). Or did in 2012.
On Sundays, the breakfast includes disney Characters.

Hey, I'm going for first time in ten days! I spent a lot of time on tripadvisor reading reviews.
I know it was in desperate need of refurbishment and understand it won't be complete by the time we arrive but I'm okay with that.
For me, I' know well be out nearly all day, home late so basically just need somewhere to sleep. I tend to not make use of pool as just usually go BB or TL.
Not sure how you are booking it but I booked through a UK website, I then emailed the hotel directly regarding the resort fee and was told it was included through my booking agent. I plan to print that email to take with me, just incase.

As a family we stayed here I think 3 times, the details & years are in my signature bit.

It's true that during the last time we were there we felt it needed some revitalisation work done to fix some deterioration with age issues.

But overall we really like this resort, have never had anything bad to say about it. Great sized accommodation, good pricing, not far from DTD. I would say parking can be an issue if you come back really late at night, however.

They have an irish restaurant onsite Frankie Farrells. Always enjoyed eating there, it's basic fare but hearty. Be careful of the resort fee, we booked it twice as a package deal & no fee was required. However when we booked it directly through hotel.com we had to pay it, I can't remember how much it was.

There's also a mall directly next door you can walk to in a matter of minutes which is worth a few hours.

Enjoy your stay.

We just stayed there and had a great visit!

Just to clarify, this is NOT walking distance to DTD. A previous poster said this but it is incorrect.

We had a two bedroom, two bath condo. Kitchen appliances all worked. Washer and dryer worked too, and that was great to have. Master bedroom had a king size bed that was very comfy and firm. Huge shower and soaking bath tub.

You do not get maid service unless you want to pay for it. We didn't, and it worked out fine.

People did have to park on the street if they came home super late, but we never did.

Unit was nice enough. I had no complaints, although it certainly wasn't luxury. It was perfectly serviceable for our needs though.

The pirate ship water slide in the pool was great for the kids. The water was freezing though. We also took advantage of the Pizza Hut Express - so nice to just order a pizza after a long day at the parks.

The drive to the parks was about 10-15 minutes every morning.

My only real complaint was the window coverings. The living room had nice, heavy, light-blocking drapes typical of a hotel room. However, the bedrooms only had blinds. My kids were up early due to light, and I think they would have slept later with heavier drapes.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

My family stayed there 2 yrs ago. The pirate pool was a hit, kids loved that it was themed, and adults enjoyed the bar right alongside
