We just returned from a five night stay at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa. I think a few people on here have asked about it, so here is my review.

Overall, a positive experience and we enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again, but next time I am pushing dh for onsite just to check onsite out.

The resort is located less than two miles from WDW, and we did not have to get on the interstate to get there.

We had a party of seven, dh, our three kids, my mother, my brother and me. We had a four bedroom/four bath condo for $169 a night using the Orlando Magicard.. With tax, came to $199 a night. Very spacious and nice that we all had a room. It also had a pull-our sleeper sofa that we did not use.

It is located behind the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. You can walk to the shopping.

My mother declared it the nicest place she has ever stayed. While it was nice, dh and I agreed it is probably not the nicest place where we have stayed.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. They helped us with all kinds of requests and made sure we had an enjoyable stay.

The condo we were in had two master bedrooms with jacuzzi bathtubs. We looked for accomodations with the jacuzzis for our two girls since they seem to enjoy them and for me, and then we didn't really use them because we had some late nights.

The condo was very clean and the place was quiet. My mother did say she could hear some fussing going on in another condo one night, but other than that, we didn't hear too much.

My only major complaint is the carpet in our condo was stained pretty badly. The place is still under construction, so I am thinking that the carpet may be replaced once they are finished. Oh yeah, our sliding glass door in the living area did not have a working safety lock, so we had to watch our two year old constantly. It locked, but he could easily unlock it.

Not many people know about this place because it is so new. My mother and brother had to call me when the airport shuttle service was taking them there because the driver was not aware of the place. He found it without a problem once I told him about the outlets.

The spa area is not open yet, but the staff told me it would be soon, maybe next month or so. They told me when, but I can't remember. I am not sure if the pool was open because we didn't use it.

Like I said, we would stay there again and probably will if the rates are good.

Thanks for the great review acjsmom. This resort sounds better and better. Did you by chance try the restaurant there? Are there casual eateries nearby this hotel? A clean room is really the most important factor to me so I'm glad to hear your villa was clean. I also read your post in the other thread and am happy to hear you weren't bothered by a timeshare sell. Could I ask though what an Orlando Magicard is? Is this something just for Florida residents? Or how do you go about getting one? That was a good rate you got for a four bedroom/four bath condo. Thanks again.

You can get an Orlando Magicard by either downloading it or ordering it here: http://www.orlandoinfo.com/magicard/ I would download it, print it out and also order one if your trip is not too close. They sent a bunch of brochures with it when I ordered ours. It is from the Orlando tourist bureau, is for anyone and free. They will send you a brochure with all the information about accomodations, including rate info.

I did not try the restaurant, but my mother and brother did. They said the Shepherd's Pie there was wonderful, and my brother went back two other times to get the Shepherd's Pie, but ordered other things instead that he said were just as good.

As far as casual restaurants, several sit-down and fast/quick food type restaurants were nearby. Plus, the outlets had a food court. We ordered Chick Fil-A drive-thru one morning, which is a staple for my family. :) We did order pizza one night from the place that was advertised with a tent card in the condo. I can't remember the name of it, but it was very good. It wasn't a chain that I was familiar with and the pizza was not the standard run-of-the-mill pizza.

Wal-Mart is less than a half-mile away. You literally turn left out of the hotel, drive about a minute and it is there on your right. Good selection of Disney merchandise there. I *think* a Super Target was nearby, but we didn't get that far. I did shop at Wal-Greens which is near the Chick Fil-A. Pretty much anything you need is right there.

Sounds wonderful. Thanks so much for all of the great info. And the link to the discount card. Our trip is next feb or march but I want to make sure I find the best hotel for our family. I think I have. :flower3:
