Wednesday, February 10th continued

I went into Ollivander’s Wand Shop and a wand caught my eye that was on display.

I asked the TM who’s wand it was and it turned out to be Albus Dumbledore’s original wand. I bought it and set out to do some magic.

The family brooms were fun looking.

These were really nice backpacks.


New merchandise since I was there in September.

I had been looking for the Hogwarts Express coasters and I found them there.

They have a lot of the Hogwarts Express merchandise located in the store.

Now it was time for a snack.

I stopped in Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour





I have two favorites in the soft serve ice cream. Orange Marmalade and Strawberries & Cream. I decided on the Orange Marmalade in a waffle cone.

It was delicious as always.

I went to my favorite place to enjoy my ice cream


After I finished my ice cream I walked around Knockturn Alley.




I love going in Borgin and Burke’s.








There was some new Prisoner of Azkaban merchandise. Fun necklace and bracelet.

After my time in Knockturn Ally it was time to go back out in the daylight.

I never tire of looking at the Dragon on Gringotts Bank.

I have always been so focused on the face I never noticed the tail........LOL




And how the Dragon is holding on to the bank pillar with its wing.

You need to have a look in there on your trip. You will be tempted too. I noticed a few new backpacks on this trip. I always like looking at the new Harry Potter merchandise.

I had never noticed the wand before. It really stood out from the others. I was pleasantly surprised it was Dumbledore’s wand.

Orange Marmalade soft serve at Florean Fortescue’s is hard to pass up as a treat at Diagon Alley. Glad to hear you like too.

I agree we stayed at RPR CL for a night at the end of January and really like it, I would stay again. I love the back pack and the lot. We are into backpack purses and I noticed a bunch of cute house ones. I love Fluers for ice cream but I think about trying something different I always go back to the butterbeer soft serve. The orange Marmalade sounds good. We have started a wand collection and can't wait to put it up on our wall when we do a HP theme room.

We are enjoying the floats when we go. The beads being thrown is great, I love how they make you dance for them.

Bobbie68...... it is so good to see you back on the boards......sounds like you and your family our getting settled into your new home well.

I was so temped by the backpack so I just bought it....They had a lot of new backpacks on this trip. I always like looking at the new merchandise they come up with. I think I took a pic of some of the backpacks on this trip. I will look for them.










The Square Gryffindor one is a sling bag.

Sounds like a awesome idea to set up a Harry Potter room with all your wands etc.....my younger sister has just about talked me into doing a Potter themed guest bedroom with all the Potter things I have collected over the years. Once you get yours completed would love to see some pictures. I’am sure it will be awesome.

Life has been getting in the way so to speak and I’am finally back to try and wrap up my fun trip to Universal Mardi Gras.


Wednesday, February 10th continued

Outside of Diagon Alley I went past the Cuba booth.


i decided to go back and get another Cuban sandwich.

I have read online some folks felt the sandwich was a little dry, but both times I sampled this sandwich it was made fresh and put in the sandwich press while I waited. I understand this would not work during busier times.



The sandwich was very good and the plantain chips were a hotter this time and were much more tasty then the last time.

After my sampling I walked around a little to enjoy some more Mardi Gras decorations.







Optimus Prime was out for a visit.

Grandson has educated me over the years on the Transformers. It’s so fun to watch the little ones get their first look at the Transformers.

I decided to ride Transformers. There was a line today, but with EP the wait was not long.

I was the only one in the front row and they sat a couple in the back row.

Before you get on the ride the TM puts sanitizer in your hands.

I really like this ride. I always make sure to ride it when I visit.

After Transformers I went for a ride on ET. I stopped to look at some fun ET merchandise as I know a little fella who would really like an ET.



It was time to sit down with a cool beverage and people watch for awhile.

Wednesday, February 10th continued

After a rest I decided to sample another sandwich.
I went to the New Orleans booth.




This booth is located by the concert area. There are sit down and standing tables to eat at.


I ordered the Muffaletta sandwich and a soda.


As you can see by the picture they did not skimp on the ingredients. The olive relish was delicious on the sandwich. The chips were hot and tasty. This sandwich had lots of flavor and a little kick of heat. If I had been staying for a number of days I would have definitely made another visit to this booth.

It was getting late snd it was time for me to leave. I walked over to catch the Hogwarts Express at Kings’s Cross Station.

It is so nice and cool in there. Always a nice break from the heat when it is really warm out.

I walked through the wall at Platform 9 3/4 and rode the train back to Hogsmeade.

I took a walk through rough Honeydukes and noticed they had new masks.


The new blue gift bags were very nice.

Now it was time to take a stroll through Suess Landing. It is so colorful there.

I can remember my first trip to IOA many years ago with my sister and her family. We had a meal at Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous. Then rode all the fun rides in Suess Landing.



I have brought my grandchildren to Suess Landing for many years and last February introduced my great-granddaughter to Suess Landing.

Suess Landing holds lots of fond memories for me.

Sadly Circus McGurkus has not been open for awhile now.









I have thought of trying some food at Green Eggs and Ham, but have not done that yet.


It was time for a ride on the Cat in the Hat







This is one of those rides you just can not miss on a visit to Suess Landing.

Wednesday, February 10th continued

The Lorax and Grinch had arrived to play.

And it was time to leave.



I made it to the water taxi before it left. The ride back to RPR was nice. It had been pretty warm today and I was looking forward to a shower and the air conditioning.

Later resting in my room. I thought about what a lovely time I had the last three days. I have to admit I always have a wonderful time at my happy place.

No need to get dinner this evening. I was still full from the day of snacking.

It was getting late so I pulled the drapes and off to sleep I went.



Thursday, February 11th

Woke up early and showered. Packed my suitcase and gathered all my purchases. Stopped by the desk and said my goodbyes. Loaded my car and it was time to go.

I will look forward to the next trip to my happy place.


Thoughts on trip overall.

Royal Pacific is a beautiful Resort with the nicest Staff. They have a very well thought out set of Covid precautions in place.

Universal Studios has done a wonderful job with Covid precautions and they have the nicest TM’s.

The Mardi Gras celebration is awesome. Even though they did not have the regular parade the floats were stationed around Universal Studios for you to stop and appreciate them up close.

The TM’s threw beads from the floats and if you showed them some dance moves they would throw you more......LOL

The food Lanyards were a great buy especially the AP holder 15 choice lanyard.

The food offered at the different countries food booths was very good.

Traveling to Universal Orlando for solo travelers is very easy.

Traveling for the over 60 folks is very easy.

Stay at a onsite Resort. They are wonderful.

Enjoy some yummy food at the parks and Resorts.

Go and have a great time and make memories.
