Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

First I want to apologize for taking so long to put up another update. Due to a busy weekend I didn't get on much and now I'm trying to play make up on all the reports I follow. On top of being behind I still don't have much time. Dennis is out of town this week so I have more home stuff to do. Poor guy he's at a Leadership conference it VEGAS! He flew out Monday and will be back Thursday night. So far it doesn't sound like it has been too taxing.

Okay so back to the report.

We left off being disappointed in not getting a nap in at Universe of Energy. What to do now? We weren't really hungry but we needed to eat soon or it would really mess up our dinner ADR at Teppan Edo at 5. And we still wanted a rest. So we forged on into Future World to find some lunch. We passed through Mexico but didn't stop. As I have said before it's real hard to get through the walkway there due to the construction and the line for the counter service place. We passed through Norway and again didn't stop. We had eaten here on Sunday. Onto China where we did take a photo or two but didn't stop to eat.

I'm always trying to get some pictures from every country each trip but somehow I always miss a country or two. I have never really spent a great deal of time in China and I haven't seen the film since my very first trip in the 80's. I have now come to the conclusion that I need to divide and conquer. Each trip I'm going to try and fully do at least one country. We did do the film in Canada this trip so next trip I'll try to hit France or China.

Moving along to Germany.

We only stopped long enough for me to take these.

Gotta love the trains.

When we hit the American Adventure we decided to stop for lunch. It was getting late and yes we were hungry. Of course we waited until the worst possible time to eat. The place was mobbed! The lines were long and there were no empty tables. It was time to divide and conquer again. Dennis and Michelle hit the lines. Danielle and I stalked around for a table. We actually walked back and forth waiting for a table to open up. We hovered around people trying to finish their meals and waiting. We weren't the only people doing this so we had competition. Finally a table opened up really close to the fixin' bar. The people there graciously offered their table to us. Within minutes Dennis and Michelle came with the food. We had the table right about the time we had food. Remember how careful I was not to eat meat at breakfast since it was Ash Wednesday? I had also carefully planned out that I would order the shrimp at dinner that night. But for some reason my planning didn't include lunch. I had been hankering for a pulled pork sandwich the entire trip and when I saw in on the menu I told Dennis that's what I wanted. After make sure we had what we needed at the fixin' bar and finally sitting down to eat I took a few bites into my pork and then it hit me. . . . I'm not suppose to eat meat today. I felt horrible. Honest mistake I didn't intentionally do it. Moving on. While we were in there we got to see and hear the Drum and Fife Corps. The marched right through the eating area on their way in and out. After everyone's bellies were full it was time to decide where to next. We were now all full and tired and luckily right next to a nice dark attraction. Michelle and I did the American Adventure in 1999 with the full intent of seeing the show, but being in a cool dark place was just too much. We fell sleep. Dennis and Danielle have never seen the show so it was decided we would give it a go. The next show was starting in just a few minutes. When we walked in Voices of Liberty were performing. Michelle and I hadn't enjoyed their show since 1999 and of course Danielle and Dennis had never seen them. We caught the tail end of the show but really enjoyed it. Luckily we caught the state roll call song. As they say each state you are suppose to represent when they call your state. Well since this was Mardi Gras week when they got to Louisiana it had the biggest reaction. There was one state that had no reaction, I think it was Wyoming. I do remember them saying they have never had anyone yell when it was sung. After the show everyone moved along to enter the theater. It had been a long time since I had been in there. I found it odd that we seemed to go the long way to get into the theater. It seems like there has to be a shorter route. We settled ourselves into our seats. Michelle had every intent to use this time for a nap. I honestly tried to stay awake but just couldn't make it. I'm pretty sure Danielle fell asleep but I think Dennis stayed awake for most of it. I did come in and out of sleep and try to watch some of the show. We all woke up in time to enjoy the beautiful and moving song at the end. Someday I want to actually see the whole show but I may have to use something to help keep me awake.

After our brief rest we decided to split up. Danielle wanted to do a KP mission, hopefully in Japan and Dennis had no patience for another mission. Danielle and I headed in one direction and Dennis and Michelle headed in another. Here is where my pictures get real erratic. It looks like I went back and forth and not in the usual circular path. Of course since I had stopped writing in the notebook, other than pictures I have to rely on my spotty memory. I do have some pictures from Dennis and Michelle's exploits. It appears they did lots of shopping, but no buying.

Their first stop was Canada.

Some landscapes.

They made some friends.

What's a trip to Disney World without a pictures of ducks?

Continued in next post.

Dennis.

Italy.

I don't know where they found this, but isn't it beautiful?

Check out the price.

Some wine, which Michelle is too young to enjoy.

This was taken in Germany for me. I love nutcrackers.

And finally Japan where were to meet up for dinner.

So goes the adventures of Dennis and Michelle in the World Showcase.

The first thing Danielle and I did was head to the closest KP spot to pick up a FPs for a mission. We requested Japan and got it! It was going to be a while before we could pick up the communicator so I wanted to look around the countries and take some pictures. On our trip in 2009 Danielle and I had a lovely day doing just that and I was hoping to have another nice walk around the countries. Well it just wasn't to be. All Danielle cared about was doing her mission and she was just downright grumpy. Even though it was going to be more than an hour until we could pick it up she just wouldn't let it go. Since her mission would be in Japan we headed there first. She wanted to scope out the area in hopes of catching someone else doing a mission.

This was the only country I could get her to half way pose.

More in next post.

More Japan.

We did catch someone doing a mission.

We passed through American again.

On our way to Italy. There are so many lovely things to take pictures of here.

Very reluctant to take a picture.

Passing back through America.

more to come.

On our way to Morocco.

Look oranges!

France.

Someday I want to eat here.

A very reluctant picture.

I was hoping to catch the entertainment here since I have never seen it. The guidemap said it should have happened while we were there but I never saw it and Danielle was whining. It was getting close to the time to pick up the communicator. So I gave up and we made the long walk back to Germany to pick it up, with no stops along the way.

In the next update we'll finally so that mission.

That's so funny that most of you fell asleep in the American Adventure. I confess, I've never been in it. :guilty: Next time.

I never found the entertainer in France either. I went twice, at the time he was supposed to be there (I think it was 3:00), and he wasn't there either time.

I  American Adventure. Saw it for the first time last trip and bawled like a baby.

Great photos- they make me miss WDW soooo much.

Amazing update! Any pictures from EPCOT are good pictures, but yours are GREAT pictures!

Shame on bother of you ;) I am going to have to take both of you back down there, with some strong coffee to keep Vanessa awake, and make you watch the show. It is a "don't miss" for us. My 17 year old was thrilled when he realized how close Beach Club was to the back of Epcot - he said he could run over and watch American Adventure anytime he wanted. And he did - he made a trip one day specifically to watch the Drum & Fife players and the American Adventure and then came back. :confused3

Great World Showcase pictures!!! Too bad about forgetting it was Ash Wednesday, but it is so easy to forget time and dates when you are at Disney. I can't wait to hear about your Kim Possible mission!

I really wish I could stay awake and see the whole thing. Between my 2 tries I've only seen bits and pieces. Go see it !

I think that was about the time I was trying to catch him. I've never seen him and I'm so disappointed I missed him again.

I loved what I saw of American Adventure. How many more days until you'll be back?

:welcome: Liesa! I truly believe you can never take too many pictures of Epcot.

I really try to stay awake. :sad2: Maybe coffee would work for me since I don't drink it. I haven't built up a resistance to the caffeine. I love the taste of coffee flavored candy and ice cream but I don't drink coffee. I have seen the Drum & Fife players a few time.:thumbsup2

Thanks CP! I felt guilty for the rest of the trip, but then again it's not good to waste food either. You really do forget the real world while you're there. I think Danielle like KP as much as Connor.

Oh No to the Ash Wednesday pork. I can totally see that happening because it is something I would do (and have done before).

You got some really fabulous pictures in the world showcase. Excellent details. Jen and I did 4 of the KP missions on our last trip. They were so much fun! I didn't know what to expect, but I gotta give Disney props for building in such a cute attraction into the world showcase. I am bummed that I only have 3 left to do in May. And - I have not done Japan yet.

Did you do the one in Germany???? Freak'in hysterical, especially after a couple drinks!

Great mega update. Really enjoyed it.

Is the entertainer the acrobats in France ??? If so I have always seen them around 5pm around my adr time for Chef's !!!!There are still spoo many shows and entertainers I want to catch in The World !! I've seen the Norway film once (that's enuff) I hate how they trap you into having to walk thru there to get out !!!

It did seem like Danielle had a one track mind on this particular afternoon.
Hope she enjoyed that mission!
Loved the pictures!

Great Epcot pictures! Makes me all the more anxious to be there two weeks from tomorrow for some Food & Wine Festival fun. :cool1:

I just love everything about World Showcase, including all the movies. Maybe being a teacher, I appreciate things like that more than the average tourist. It's nice that there is something for everyone. I'd much rather be watching one of the films than riding Mission:Space, while someone else would consider that torture.

438 until WDW but....we are popping into Disneyland for one or two days right after Thanksgiving so only 59 days until the quickie to Disneyland. :woohoo:

I thought about you while Dennis was in Vegas. Aren't you hitting Disneyland as a side trip when you go to Vegas?

100% agree with that!! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see your pictures.

How neat to do the missions without a kid. I would love to do that. Japan has some really cool stuff with their mission(s).

Did you do the one in Germany???? Freak'in hysterical, especially after a couple drinks!

We've never done Germany, on the list for next time. Between 2 trips we've only done UK, France, Norway and Japan. So many more to do.

Great mega update. Really enjoyed it.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if they do acrobats but I have seen pictures of stacked chairs. I've done the Norway film and since it has been a while I wouldn't mind doing it again

It did seem like Danielle had a one track mind on this particular afternoon.
Hope she enjoyed that mission!
Loved the pictures!

You are so right! Tune in to find out.

You are so luck! I hope y'all have a fabulous trip.

I would much rather see the movies that ride Mission Space. It would be torture for me. I hoping I can slowly work the family into seeing all the films.
