Cast:
Alaine (aka Lainy67) - 34, the planner, mother, wife, and scribe.
Frank - 36, the hubby, father, and primary photographer.
Sarah - 10, the eldest daughter, and in Disney terms - an adult
Samee - 3, the youngest daughter, and hyperness personified.

WE had booked an early morning flight so we could take advantage of a full day, or at least most of one, so we set our alarms for 4:00 am. Not that we found out if we set them correctly. You see our neighbor must be psychic and have known we needed to get up early. He conveniently let his car alarm malfunction repeatedly starting at 3:23 am. We're awake. How thoughtful of him.

We arrived at DFW airport at 5:00 and checked in by 5:30 and get to wait an hour to board, but everything went smoothly. For once my hubby didn't set off the little detector, they didn't search our bags because they were confused by the roll of quarters, and noone had to remove their shoes (YIPPEE). Frank and Samee slept part or most of the flight. while Sarah colored and drew in her notebook and I read yet another Disney book.

We arrived on time and was met by David from Tiffany Towncar. He helped wiht the bags and went and brought the car around. WE did a quick grocery stop at Kash N Karry. Not a lot of selection, but good enough. Arrived at Riverside. First thought - How GORGEOUS. Check in went well. Sarah made her first pin trade. She thought it was pretty cool She got really good at it over the day.

We received Room 2752 and glory be, it was ready. We arranged for the Monday Fantasmic and Tuesday E-Nite tickets, then we caught a ride with our bags and headed to the room. It was an upstairs room with a view of the woods. If you looked really hard you could see a drop of blue of the pool. But we paid for a standards and didn't get parking lot view, so WHOOPEE!

Unpacked and headed to bus stop. It was very muggy. ICK. Samee was very tired and seemed not into it. Until we saw Spaceship Earth. "EEEEEkkkkkk. Didnee world, Didney World." We got off the bus and took the trek to the front. NOTE @ EPCOT, the Port Orleans busses are farthest from the front gate, in a tie with one of the All Stars.

We got in around 2:20 and Sarah was thrilled. Samee overwhelmed. Went to the Land. Since we hadn't eaten since 6:15, we ordered a sandwich and kids meal and split it between the 4 of us. We wanted real food before the ice cream social. I went and bought an autograph book for Sarah and a passport for Epcot and a pressed penny book.

The Ice Cream social was ok. For characters it was great. Sarah was incredible. She hugged Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. Samee, who we thought would be ecstaticwas NOT. She would talk and blow kisses but not touch. She did pet Chip, but would not do the same with Dale. The ice cream was eh.

Before the Ice Cream Social we had gotten our first fast passes. now was the telling time. Turned them in. On Living with the Land within 5 minutes. WOO HOO. Fast Pass Rules. Then went through Food Rocks. Cannot believe Disney picked Funky Cold Medina to revamp for a kids show. Left the Land. It looked like a storm was moving in. UH OH. Decided to hurry to Journey into your imagination. Literally walked on. It was fun. Not as good as the original though. Everyone else hated the skunk. I personally was not thrilled with the upside down toilet dripping on me.

We went through the Image Works for a few minutes. It was ok. Pressed a Figment penny. Went outside and sawy the storm was closer. Watched jumping fountains for a minute and decided to go ahead and do Honey I Shrunk the Audience since it was only a 10 minute wait. Samee wasn't too sure about this. She did cry when the kitty turned into a snarling liion. She liked the doggy sneezing on us though.

It was sprinkling when we got out. OK No biggie. Went through Ice Station Cool. Japan's was ok. Knew better than to try Beverly. Sarah and Frank didn't though. I wish I had a pic of their faces. Samee liked to get a sample, pour it out, get a sample, pour it out......

Still raining as we left. Stopped at pin central. Four ponchos please, and that little game too (which Sarah didn't play the whole time), 2nd pin trade for Sarah. On to Spaceship Earth. 30 Second Wait. Got off and hung out at the ATT exhibit . Decided Samee was going to drop. We left and did 3rd pin trade on the way out at the pin stand.

One bus, no waiting. At hometel (as Samee calls it) we got food and our mugs. Samee asked when we could take a nap. This was funny as she NEVER sleeps. Grabbed Ice cream cones (much better than ice cream social). Walked back to the room through the sprinkles at 8:45. Checked weather, watched 15-20 minutes of some weird sports thing with grown men climbing telephone polls and then the kids and Frank went to sleep while listening to the Disney Bedtime stories. Wake up call coming at 6:25. NITE NITE.

BEST PART OF DAY

Samee - Journey Into Your Imagination
Sarah - Spaceship Earth
Frank - Samee's reaction seeing Spaceship Earth from the bus
Alaine - Walking onto all the attractions / busses

WORST PART OF DAY

Samee - She wanted a nap BAD, the lion in Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Sarah - Beverly at Ice station cool
Frank - Car alarm at 3:23 am
Alaine - Samee's reaction to the characters at the Ice Cream Social

It makes it all worth it when the little ones get so excited doesnt it? I"m glad you had a great day!

It's good to see someone so close by from Texas who went to WDW!! I'm going in October and can't wait! Is there a website for Tiffany Town Car and would you recommend them after using them? Also, what was the ice cream social you spoke about? Is that kinda like a character snack you make reservations for?
Thanks for the report, can't wait to finish reading the rest!:Pinkbounc

I would recommend Tiffany. Their website is Tiffanytowncar.com. The Ice Cream Social was at the Garden Grill and cost about 32$ or so for all of us. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale came to the table, so that was fun. Our server was so so and the ice cream was severely melting when brought to the table. We liked the character interaction, but the ice cream was much better back at the resort and at WDW.

Sounds like a great day. Have never stayed at the riverside. I like the french quarter. After having stayed at both, which do you prefer?

We prefer the French Quarter. Not sure why. No major difference that we could tell. Just liked the FQ better.
