Horizons opened on October 1, 1983 exactly oneyear to the day after EPCOT center opened as part of phase 2 of the parks development. Although the ride promised "if we can dream it, we can do it", it closed permanenetly in 1999. The attraction was believed to be unprofitable after it lost it's coporate sponser in 1993. Sadly, the attraction building was demolished to make room for a completely new ride.

The paddles are shaped like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy heads. As you tour Mickey's Country House you'll notice the den filled with sports. Memorabilla and a ping pong game that looks like a rout. On the table you'll see two paddles - one shaped like Mickey's head, the other like Donalds. On the lower left shelf, right next to the trophey, you'll see a third green paddle shaped like Goofy's head.
