Hi! We have a standard room reserved in the Grand Floridian main building. The Royal Palm club. Has anybody ever stayed there and had a lagoon view? Is that possible? Thanks so much for any help. I think there are some rooms facing the lagoon but I can't figure out what their room numbers are or if they are standard rooms.

AFAIK Lagoon View is only available from the outer buildings. Not that some of the rooms may not have views of the Lagoon in the main building but all rooms tagged as Lagoon view are in outer buildings. If you're in the main building I would think that your view of the lagoon would be impeded by the outer buildings unless you were up quite high.

When we stayed RPC, we stayed in a theme park view room. I am not sure where the standard view rooms are located, but if I had a standard room booked, I would expect a room with a view of the GF gardens and grounds. These views are very pretty - there are no really bad views at the GF, so I wouldn't worry. Lagoon views likely exist, but I am not sure if they are categorized as standard view. If you want a lagoon view, then you could put that request on your reservation and/or mention it to IPO.

You can see some of the lagoon from most of the standard RPC rooms. Some will be of the lagoon looking towards Poly and others will be of the outer buildings with some of the lagoon/marina area visible. This picture was taken from rooms on the atrium side of RPC. There is not a pure lagoon view in RPC.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here but the standard rooms in RPC face either the middle courtyard pool or toward the feature pool/vDVC building/lagoon/Poly. We stayed standard RPC earlier this year and had a view of the middle courtyard so I can speak first hand about that. I think you get this from your question but the only view category you can actually book is a TPV, you can't book a LV room at RPC.

Here are my view photos in case helpful.

To the right (note, the other possible view would be to the right of this looking in that direction)...

I agree. There really aren't any bad views at the GF as they are all very nice, IMO :).

You are correct that LV is not a bookable category for RPC, it's either standard or TPV. My favorite view is overlooking the feature pool with the lagoon/Poly in the distance, but a view of the courtyard pool (as your pics show) is also nice :goodvibes.

Wow -- seeing those RPC views brings back some great memories. I had a courtyard pool view (standard RPC), similar to GADisneyDad14, and we loved it. But next time I'm going to request the other standard RPC view, like what baler31 had. I believe those are the 2 types of standard RPC views. The other category would be the TPV.

We were given Room 4313, which is on the 3rd floor furthest down the hall of the standard rooms (right next to the suite and the secret elevator).

And bonus picture to add excitement to my hopefully soon booking RPC for this coming Easter too:
LOVED waking up to this view from our balcony on Easter morning!!
