Lady and the Tramp's Disney with Food Allergies TR ~COMPLETE

So we head back thru Fantasy Land on our way to ToonTown. A quick ride on Peter Pan again, with the FP's that we had left over from earlier this morning, and then off to TT Hall of Fame to see Goofy. Thank goodness the wait was only 40 mintues!! I couldn't imagine waiting over an hour for this!

First we see Donald....

Then Pluto.....

And finally we see Goofy!! Jackie runs right up to him and slams the tag into his hand. It takes him a second to see what it was, then he started "laughing" and slaping his hand on his knee, as if to say "you got me" and Jackie's saying to him "I tagged you Goofy! I got you!" ::yes:: It was sooo cute to see!

After we were done with them, we decided to hop into the Princess Line. It said 60 minutes, but the CM said it really was much shorter. Plus we had about 1 hr before we had to be a dinner, so we figured we'd might as well jsut wait. I think the wait ended up being only about 30 minutes, so that was good.

First we saw Cinderella.....

Then Belle.........

After toontown, we had time to do 1 more quick trip on Buzz before dinner. Again, we grabbed another FP for use after dinner!! :thumbsup2

We go check in at Crystal Palace for dinner. Man that place is crazy!! They had 3 different spots going for check in!! It was so confusing! Well Joey had to use the potty, so we decided to check out the baby center. Now, i've always known it's there, but since i don't travel to disney with a baby baby, never used it before. WOW!! Now that is a really nice place!! I took him into the family restroom with tiny little potties, and he pooped!! :cool1: That was huge!! It's one thing for him to pee pee in the potty, but pooping, and on vacation too!! WOW!! I was so proud! :lmao:

So we get done, and of course, our name was called while we were in the bathroom. The CM couldn't wait 20 seconds for us to come out. :( So we ended up waiting another 10 minutes! :furious: Man, that really pissed me off! But we get to our table, and there's Pixie Dust spread out for our anniversary! :lovestruc

Again, the waitress knew of Joey's allergy, and the chef was on his way. Again, lots of great choices for him, as well as us to. Crystal Palace is anothe of our favourite restaurts, both for breakfast and dinner.

Crystal Palace did have dairy free ice cream, and a dairy free brownie available for Joey, we ordered both for him. :hyper: And we got a free Cupcake for our anniversary!!
dtrip012.jpg

We also got a Magical Moment certificate, but who knows were that picture went.

dtrip014.jpg

dtrip015.jpg

That was supposed to be the end of our MK day, because tomorrow morning we had another early ADR for breakfast, and the P&PP tomorrow night. SO we needed an early night for rest. Joe wanted to stay, since the kids were being so good. :worried: But why tempt fate???? Should we stay and see how it goes.....or go back to the hotel and get some much needed sleep???

stay tuned to find out!!!

great updates. I love the pics from your GF dinner and the cake looks great too. Looks like your DD enjoyed the BBB, the pics are adorable. Such cute kids!! Congrats on being resort family of the day and your monorail ride upfront. Sounds like a great day at MK too. Very cute pitures with the characters.

love it you look like you had soooo much fun!
I can't wait!!!!!:rotfl:

We did! It was a really great day!

The cake was WONDERFUL!! It tasted so good. Jackie loved BBB, it was such a great experience for her, i can't wait to do it again next year! :lmao:

Well, in the end, Dh won out. It was a short trip, we wanted to do as much as possible, it the kids were doing so well, we might as well keep going.:thumbsup2

So after we left Crystal Palace, we walked around a bit trying to figure out what to do! My touring plan ended at dinner, so we were kind of at a lost as to what to do! :lmao: We wandered over the bridge towards Liberty Square and ran into Rabbit, who was unable to make it to dinner.
dtrip020.jpg

dtrip021.jpg

We walked through Liberty Square, and I finally saw the Christmas Shoppe right over the bridge! :thumbsup2 Didn't get to go in. :( I never get to go shopping. Continued on back into Fantasty Land, and saw some totally cute Topiary's.
Joey isn't cooperating with Jackie's Photo Op.

dtrip023.jpg

dtrip024.jpg

I wanted to do IASW, but my party pooper of a husband didn't want too. Jackie even wanted to ride it, but he bribed her with a ride on Peter Pan instead. ;) So we did Peter Pan again, and Pooh again. Dumbo was still too long to wait. We did a quick pass through Tinkerbelle's Treasures and Sir Mickey's before we headed back up Main Street to try and find a spot for SpectroMagic, my absolute favourite parade ever!!! Yeah, that's funny. it was like 850pm, and Spectro started in 10 minutes. :lmao: We ended up pulling up into one of the little side streets and standing behind this family that was sitting on a bench. Joe and Jackie stood next to the bench, and somehow i ended up with Joey on my shoulders. Then the parade starts!!

(forgive my horrible attempt at nightime pictures!! I totally suck at taking pictures in the dark and would love s remedial nighttime photography lesson! and don't forget, i had a 2 yr old on my shoulders the entire parade.)

dtrip034.jpg

Joey absolutely LOVED the parade!! OMG his reaction was priceless! I so wish I had a camera to videotape HIM watching the parade! It was great! He was laughing and clapping and BOUNCING around the entire time. Man, my shoulders hurt sooo bad! ;) One time he got so excited he almost fell off! Thankgoodness for the man standing behind me who helped to catch him! No matter what else happened the rest of the evening.....staying up late to see Joey's reaction to the lighted parade was soo worth it. Definately the best part of the trip for me. :cloud9: :cloud9:

After SpectroMagic we decided to head out. It was 930pm, and the fireworks would be starting soon. If we hurried, we could make it to the bus before the crowd. 45 MINUTES LATER after a wonderful view of Wishes, the bus finally showed up! OMG that was the worst wait ever! Bus after bus after bus was pulling up for every other resort and no Pop Centrury bus at all! This was the only time the entire trip we waited for longer than 10 minutes for a bus. So angry!

Why is it that the children always seem to fall asleep just as the bus is pulling into your resort?? We get back to our room, and discover a suprise from Mickey and Minnie!! Anniversary Balloons, and an autographed card!! Love suprises!!
dtrip035.jpg

dtrip036.jpg

Wrestle two tired and dirty kids into bed, and hope they get enought sleep because the boring wake up call comes again at 630am to make it to DHS by 815am for Breakfast with Jojo and Little Einsteins!

Will we make it....and will our good behaving children last....??

Just popping by to tell you this is a GREAT trip report! I love all of the pictures! Would you believe that the picture of Lady Tremaine made me tear up! I mean, that was THE Lady Tremaine! I LOVE the characters from the classic Disney movies. I'm going to be a gushing basket case by the time I get to Disney this September. I'll be that woman crying as we're walking down Main Street. I even cry during Disney travel shows.......:goodvibes

I'm so glad to hear about your meals with your food allergic son. My son is allergic to soy, milk, and peanuts. I am anxious about our upcoming trip and his meals at the restaurants but I'm putting my trust in the Disney Chefs.

Look forward to your updates!

Pam

Thanks Pam!! Lady Tremaine was wonderful! So were the sisters!! Great characters and lovely intereaction with the kids and Dh for our anniversary dinner! They really were awesome!! I cry during Disney Travel Shows too!! I have the 3 newest ones from Travel Channel protected on my DVR. :lmao:

Good luck with your son's meals! I had no problems at all with the chefs! But i would recommend doing lots of planning for the CS meals, and probably bring some extra treats/desserts along as those seem to be really lacking in the parks.

I had already planned to bring his meals for any CS meals we have planned. The chance of cross-contamination is too risky for me. If they grab fries (which he can have) with a gloved hand that they used to get the chicken nuggets (which he can't have), we could see problem. I have a daily schedule of where and when we are eating, and then the meals David will be eating (I already have his lunch menus). I'm glad you mentioned something about the desserts, I think I read that on another post. Thanks!

I posted earlier in this TR about my own DD's peanut allergy. While the peanut allergy is scarier than the other allergens, it is easier to work around than the soy and milk. Look for Divvies cookies at the Main St Bakery. I think you can use your snack credits for them, so stock up for desserts throughout the week. Not only are they safe, they are YUMMY! http://www.divvies.com/facts.php

Hi,

I just start reading today and had to tell you that I love all the shirts you made and the autograph books.

DHS Day 3

Well i didn't bounce out of bed this morning like i did yesterday. I was excited for the trip to continue, but man....i was getting tired already!! I'm old!!:rotfl:

The boring wake up call comes at 630am, and i get up and get ready. Get the kids up at 7am and we're ready to walk out the door at 740am. I figured we were good on time for our ADR at Hollywood N Vine at 815am, because DHS didn't actually open until 9am, and EMH were at another park that day. So we go to the bus stop and wait, and wait, and wait. Finally the bus shows up right at 8am :confused3 someone on the bus said it doesn't start running until 8am, which i wasn't sure was right. If ADR's start at 8am, should the bus run BEFORE that?? whatever, we made it on time.

We get to DHS and walk up to the turn styles. The CM wished us a Happy Anniversary :cool1: and commented on our cute shirts! We were wearing our matching Name shirts. There was some problem with the turnstyles not working. so we waited some more, while these annoying guest behind us kept running up to the other turnstyles to see if they were working. The CM's kept saying, "none of them are working right now sir, you'll just have to wait in line like everyone else until it gets fixed". He didn't like that, and verbalized his complaint to everyone within ear shot. then procceeded to check another turnstyle. What an idiot! So the turnstyle finally gets fixed and he practically pushes everyone over to get to the front. Until he tried to push Dh. (where is the brick wall smilie???) Dh turns around to him and says in an oh so plesant voice "you're going to wait behind me like everyone else!" :rotfl2: Ah, oh the drama of a Disney Vacation!!

We make it in finally, all in 1 piece, and head to Hollywood and Vine. Check in at the podium, Happy Anniversary, Milk allergy, chef to talk to you. We get seated in about 5 minutes and our waitress comes to get drinks and brings the chef.

We went to the buffett and already I could tell this wasn't going to be as good as I had thought it would be. 1st, there was cheese in the eggs, and potatoes. And all the pastries and muffins had milk in them. I asked the chef to make a special dairy free waffle or pancake for Joey, as i was assured by the Special Diet dept that it could be done. As it turns out, the table next to us also had a dairy allergy, so they were getting a waffle too. so the chef goes to make the waffles.

Back at the table, Joey's lack of sleep is beging to show. He's not cooperating with regards to food. he doesn't want any of the fruit, or the cereal at all. Determined to keep my "no meltdown" streak running, i decided to just let it go, he'll eat when he's hungry. And the waffle was coming, maybe he'd be impressed with a mickey shaped waffle. Jackie was eating, and the characters were on their way. All would soon be good. ;)

First comes Jojo, and Joey is ok with her, happy and gives big hugs. Jackie has a stuffed Jojo doll from our trip back in December of 2005 that Jojo autographed on her foot, which is pretty cool! It's a good souvenior and Jackie likes Jojo because of it. :thumbsup2
trip002.jpg

trip003.jpg

Than comes June....but he's not happy to see her. :lmao:
trip004.jpg

trip005.jpg

Now the music changes and it's time for dancing!! Yeah, he's not happy about that either. Where is that darn waffle??? Oh here it comes......

NO WAY!! It's a friggin' frozen ego type waffle!!! Are you kidding me??? I can even make a dairy free pancake/waffle at home for him, and Disney gives him a frozen toaster type waffle?? I look over at the other table and the mother is looking at her waffle the same way.:( Yeah, he's not eating that. But atleast they put a very nice strawberry garnish on it....which he DID eat. So dh runs to the buffet and grabs a big bowl of the mushed strawberries and sauce that is next to the pancakes. So Joey has a big bowl of soupy syrupy strawberry sauce for breakfast, and all is happy again. :lmao:

Meanwhile, Jackie has decided to dance with the characters!
trip006.jpg

trip007.jpg

trip008.jpg

until the dances got to hard, then she had to sit down. ;) And wait for Goliath to come over!! Yeah! Goliath is a favorite in our house.
trip009.jpg

trip010.jpg

Then comes Leo
trip011.jpg

trip012.jpg

trip013.jpg

Again, all the characters made a big deal out of their autograph pages, so while it was big and cumbersome to handle, i'm glad I did it. I just finished the book this past week and it looks really good! I'll have to post pics of everything. :offtopic:

So breakfast was over now, so it was time to head out. Jackie had taken the placemat coloring page that they give to the kids and colored a big beautiful picture on it and decided she wanted to give it to Goliath as a present. So we find Goliath and give him the pic (I wish i had taken pics of that :worried: ) and it takes a while to get him, and his CM handlers, to understand that we don't want him to sign it, that it's for Goliath to keep. Once he figured that out, he was so excited he gave her another huge hug! :lovestruc

trip014.jpg

trip015.jpg

So we leave Hollywood and Vine, and grab the required family pic infront of the Sorcerer Hat.
114.jpg

115.jpg

Sorry....backtrack here. I don't think i posted our family pic from MK the day before. As i said, dh hates pics and these were the only 2 Photopass Family pics we got the whole trip!
112.jpg

113.jpg

Ok, back to DHS. Our main plan here was to see as many characters as we could, and for DH and I to hopefully ride RnRC and for me to hopefully ride ToT. The most important thing to do was to make sure we saw Mater! Joey LOVES Cars and Mater is his favorite. I knew that we had done a lot of stuff this trip for Jackie (ie Cinderella Dinner, BBB, plus all her Princess dresses) and the only thing i was absolutely adament about doing for Joey was making sure he saw Mater.

Well it was just after 9am and the park had just opened, so we decided teh 1st thing to do was run to the back and grab FP's fo RnRC and ToT. I used Jackies ticket to get my FP for ToT.;) After we got our FP's, we decided to head over towards PlayHouse Disney Live on Stage. The doors had just closed, but a friendly CM was taking a few straglers in a special side door.:thumbsup2 We went in with them.

trip022.jpg

trip023.jpg

It was a great show! I loved it, and the kids did too! They were up and dancing during Minnie's Birthday party, and chasing the bubbles. it was a really nice show.

After the show we headed out to find autographs! We knew that Mater was just about to be coming out back around Streets of America, but we were pretty far away from that, because of the detour around Toy Story Mania. We had to walk all the way across the park and back again to get back there. But we did....and guess what we found!!!

MATER!! Joey didn't know what to think!! I mean he couldn't go up and hug him could he? And Mater was running, and his horn would beep every so often. But he was still excited to see him! he kept saying MATER MATER MATER and pointing to him! I'm glad we found him!

117.jpg

119.jpg

Next we went to look for Woody and Buzz, since we had missed Woody's Cowboy Camp yesterday at MK. We ran into the Green Army men on the way!
trip030.jpg

I love that his face was covered!

And just around the corner, in front of Al's Toy Barn.....were Woody and Buzz. I just love how Joey walks right up to them.:lovestruc
121.jpg

123.jpg

Look at Jackie! Does she think she's 15 or something???
126.jpg

And the shopping cart! :rotfl2:
trip034.jpg

We had about half an hour before Monster's Inc were supposed to be out so we did a bit of shopping and more walking. We found lots of pressed penny machines in the stores arourd HISTA playset. We didn't let the kids go play because Joe said it would be too hard to get them back in line for Monsters. :confused3 Our pressed penny collection is getting pretty big!! We had bought the book the day before at MK. Jackie loves Pressed Penny's.

Soon it was time to get in line for Monster's Inc. We were first!! WOO HOO!
trip035.jpg

trip036.jpg

Finally, out comes Mike, and he walks around a bit then goes to the front....and then out comes Sully!!
128.jpg

129.jpg

Look, Joey's about to be eaten by Mike! :lmao:
trip038.jpg

131.jpg

132.jpg

It was almost noon now, so we decided to eat lunch before we headed back up to the front of the park. We were planning on eating at Pizza Planet because they were supposed to be able to provide a Dairy Free Pizza for Joey. Would it turn out? And how about P&PP that night??

Stay tuned...................

I was looking thru my photobucket album and found some pics from our trip in 2005! Rememeber, I was 8 mts pg, and had a hideously bad haircut for a pregnant lady!
