Lady and the Tramp's Disney with Food Allergies TR ~COMPLETE

:scared1: :scared1: I live in fear of contact issues on a plane, and being unable to see (what if smething bad happened?)

I'm about 1/2 way thru editing all 500+ pics from our quick little trip. :lmao: Once i get them done, then i can continue on with the TR!!

Lets see...things left on to do list...........

- ship box of supplies down (shipping tomorrow)
- reconfirm cake order for anniversary dinner at 1900 Park Fare (did that today)
- reconfirm chocolate strawberries at POP for P&PP night

Who did you call to have choc strawberries delivered to your pop room??? My brother loves them, and that would be great to surprise him next week when we go!!

I called the cake hotline and followed the prompts for Pop, but they don't deliver to your room, you have to pick up at the food court. I completely forget about them, so i didn't get them. :guilty: :guilty:

Better get this written before i forget everything! ;)

We've LANDED!!! and on time too!! We are walking thru the airport at 10:35am!! WOO HOO!! Collect our strollers and head out to find the Magical Express Center. (BTW - what's up with the MCO airport!?!?!? It looks like an insulation factory exploded inside it!! ICK! they should seriously cover that stuff up, it kind of freaked DD out to see people walking around covering their mouths as they walk thru the terminal! :scared1: )

We make our way down to Magical Express check in, grab our bus and we are on our way! I give DD another envelope, this one containing her "WELCOME TO DISNEY" letter.
gettingready025.jpg

She's so excited to finally be getting on the bus and ready to go to the "REAL Disney World" i have no idea where the fake one is, but i wonder if it's cheaper... ;)

Pop Century is the 1st stop on our ME bus. (smirky look given to the less-than-magical gentleman sitting behind me complaining about the "poor" people getting let off first. He was going to AKL, and I hope all the animals stayed out of his room view. :upsidedow ) About 1 hour after arriving in MCO we are pulling up to Pop Century!! I go in and hop in the check-in line, while DH and the kids collect the luggage. Good thing too, as there were only 5 CM's checking guests in!! :scared1: I waited in that line for over 40 minutes! But we did have our room available when we arrived, so i guess that's a plus. Head over to our room, and it's just what I wanted!!! Dh likes to fish, so i requested a view of HourGlass Lake.

LOTS more of these by the end of the week!!

We quickly get into our room, freshen up a bit and get ready to head out to Epcot. Then, I realize after all my over-planning and analyzing every possible minute of our trip, i screwed up. :guilty: I had forgotten to pack dd's Cinderella Dress into our carry-on, so it would be here for her to wear to dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I forgot, and it was in the suitcase, who knows when it will arrive.:sad2: So she had to wear regular clothes.

Also a note about our room. I specifically requested a refridgator because DS is lactose intolerant and I had to bring extra food and drinks for him, most notably, Soy Milk. I was told because the refridgator was for medical reasons, there would be no charge. Great, but not a big deal. What was a big deal was actually having the fridge. Well, we didn't get the fridge!  I had to ice down the sink every morning and evening and put his milk in it that way. Thank goodness we were only there for 3 nights! I can't imagine how the milk would have been at the end of a full week like that!

I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat in the food court, then head over to Epcot. But dh wanted to hurry and get to the park, so we decided to wait. We caught the bus at exactly 12:30pm (exactly 2 hrs after landing) and we are on our way to Epcot.!!
DSC02158.jpg

Now, since the addition of Epcot was a quick last minute thing, i hadn't really done any research on meal options. And with ds's food issue, i was at a total loss. A quick glance at my Passporter book showed we would probably be ok with Electric Umbrella. so we head that way. But....i forget to get a map and was basically just going off memory, and walked right past it, into the Land. By now the kids were a bit BEYOND hungry and getting grouchy. After all, they had last eaten breakfast at 645am! It was now 1pm! So we just decided to eat there at Sunshine Seasons. I grabbed a kids PBJ meal for each of them, with Grapes and Carrots, and I got a HUGE chicken ceaser salad. Dh, on the other hand, wanted a burger, and was now throwing a hissy fit like a 2 yr old because Sunshine Seasons doesn't have a burger stand. Wah wah wah ,grow up and pick one of the 57 different meal choices so we can eat! Just to annoy me (as I really didn't want a big meal at 1pm as we had ADR for 1900 Park Fare at 545pm) he picks this huge roasted chicken meal. it's like 1/2 a chicken, with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. We had the dining plan, but were only there for 3 nights, with actually 4 days. So i didn't want to use the CS meal because i was saving it for AK the last day. Well i should have!! Lunch for the 4 of us at Sunshine Seasons was $44!!! YIKES!! Now that would have been a good use of my CM meal, oh well, another lesson learned.

So we finish up lunch, and decide to do the Living with the Land boat ride, since it's right there. We get in line, and I look down, and notice my watch is missing.  This is of course, my gold Mickey Watch, that DH got me for xmas on our last trip to WDW. Dh rushes back to the table, not there. We check the diaper bag, as i had to dig a cup out for Joey, not there. :guilty: I'm so upset. I loved that watch, not only for the sentimental value, but because it was a really cool Mickey Watch, the band was all Mickey heads linked together. I know i had it on the bus, becuase i was keeping track of how long it took us to get on a bus to the park. So somewhere between the bus, and Living with the Land, i lost my watch. I don't know about you guys, but i HAVE to have a Watch. I must be OCD or something because i check my watch ever 5-10 minutes. I have a schedule and like to stay on it. So, 1st purchase would be to buy a new watch! :thumbsup2 After living with the Land of course. ;)

So after living with the land, we head out over to Living Seas, or rather the Seas with Nemo and Friends. We loved the new Nemo ride!! It was so cute and dd loved looking for Nemo in every "window". Then we watched Turtle Talk with Crush. DUDE!! How do they do that?!?!?! My family loves Nemo so we were espically impressed with Crush's attraction. He soooo totally rocked! :lmao:

On our way of of The Seas with Nemo and Friends, we find our 1st Pressed Penny Machine. DD loves to collect these, and I had made a really great way to keep track of all my pennies and quarters. I took old RX bottels, added a "Pressed Penny Money" label and sepearted 2 qtrs and 1 penny, 2 qtrs and 1 penny, and so forth until the bottle was full. :thumbsup2 No wasted time searcing for pennies and quarters! Of course, the 1st machine we come to....is a quarter machine. :scared1: Totally screwed up my system!! :rotfl:

time to leave work for the day. :lmao: More to come...

UP NEXT - Characters, Joey's behind the scenes unauthorized tour, and dinner at 1900 Park Fare!

I wonder about fake Disney world...

Love all the pictures!!!
Do you like the POP we are there Aug 25th for 11 days. Not sure where to request a room? Close to the main building or overlooking the lake?

We loved the Lake View room! It was close to the pool, and didn't have far to walk to the main bldg either. AND, it faced OUTSIDE of the resort, so i think it was a bit quieter.:thumbsup2

We love POP! except for the fridge, as this is the 2nd time i've requested and haven't gotten one. We may be upgrading to a MOD soon. :guilty:

Thank you
Do you know how do I go about making a room request?
I have been enjoying reading all these TR's and now am looking at all the t shirt disigns!!
Thank you for your help! :thumbsup2

you should have called the front desk, they would have brought you one ASA
p

I was told they were all out. :confused3 Yeah, somehow I don't believe that one but oh well.

Well they batter have one for my FMIL's insulin or I will be raising a BIG STINK!

If it were something more serious than just milk, I definately would have protested more. I hope your FMIL doesn't have to worry about that!

Thank you

You usually request a room type when you make your reservation. Just call and request what you want, either a lake view, or a specific theme. Last trip we requested the Lady and The Tramp building. We didn't get it, but were right next door to it, so jsut as well i guess. Alsa, still no fridge that trip either.

Day 1 continued - EPCOT

So we last left off walking out of the Living Seas, getting ripped off by the Pressed Quarter Machine. ;) We walk out and head back towards innnovations, and walk into Character Connection. The line looks huge to me, and i'd rather just go over to the Disney Visa Meet-n-Greet, after all, that's what's on the touring plan. But of course, DH has to be stubborn and just wait in this line. So we wait, and wait, and wait. Actually it was only abuot a 30 minute wait, but still, too long. So we get closer to meeting our first character, MICKEY MOUSE, and i'm digging around for the autograph books, and what pops out of the bag??

MY WATCH!!!

How in the world dh missed it before when he searched the bag is beyond me, but i was so totally excited that he found it!! I almost got teary eye'd there in line!

So it's our turn finally, and i'm struggling with my bag, the camera, and trying to get both autograph books out of the bag, find the pens, and take the sheets out of the pages. OK, while i absolutely love teh books i made for the kids, and the characters were so impressed with them and we got great shots......it was just way too mcuh work. Better idea would have been to jsut take the sheets alone, and assemble it after each day in teh hotel. Of course, then the characters wouldn't have been able to see the book, so maybe it wouldn't have been as great. Who knows. :

So this is Joey's first meeting with a character! He's so excited!! He runs right up to Mickey and gives him a big hug!! Jackie struggles to carry the huge autograph book to mickey and make sure he sees the page to sign on. Mickey is very impressed!!

Next we move over to Pluto, another of Joey's favourites. Granted, i can't really think of anyone that he doesn't like! I did try and pick out extra special things for Joey to do, since Jackie did get dinner with Cinderella AND a trip to BBB and really there wasn't much stuff for him to like. So i did try and make sure we got the characters he wanted to see.
I love how Pluto had to sign on his nose!
DSC02169.jpg

DSC02170.jpg

Then on to Minnie Mouse. You can see DH is helping make sure the right pages are signed, then collecting the BIG BOOK as it was becoming know as. ;) She wrote a big long message.

Finally, it was time for Goofy. Joey absolutely ADORES goofy, he is his favourite character when we watch the Sing-a-longs and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I knew this was going to be good, and i wasn't disappointed.

(I can't wait until I get my photopass CD. I just sent in for it and the photobook.)

After charcters, we decided to head over to WS and see what other characters we could see.

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival
DSC02178.jpg

We headed over to Mexico and did the boat ride. It was pretty cute, I don't remember what it was like before they did the rehab. As we were inside, dh asked why we had never eaten at San Angel Inn. Like he expects his previous 2 trips to have included all the restaurants in Epcot. I told him i'd be sure to add it to the list for next year. We head out of mexico and determine it's time to quickly find a bathroom for Joey. So we head over to Norway, since we were headed that way anyway. We quickly walk past 3 Amigos Donald before the kids see him.:scared: And rush into the bathroom. He makes it!!! :thumbsup2 Did i mention he's 2 yrs and 3 months old! Unfortunately, at this time it becomes clear I'm having contact issues again. Of course i have eye drops.....back at the hotel. I do my best to go on, and hope we can find a store with eye drops soon. We check out Maelstrom, but the line is 40 minutes. We did that last time and didn't see the need to wait that long to do it again. So we continue on thru WS. The kids were too young to be interested in the Kidcot stations, but it is definately on my list for next year!

We walked past Snow White and Dopey also, as her line was huge. (we sholuld have waited, as unfortunatly, we don't see her again.:guilty: ) Finally we make it to China and Mulan has no one seeing her!! Jackie likes Mulan so we rush over to see her. Mulan is GREAT!! She really talked to Jackie a lot, and even pulled out her lucky cricket for Jackie to see! And she tried to engage Joey, but he wasn't too interested. He would much rather run around.

And of course, the obligatory princess lipstick kiss.
DSC02182.jpg

We continue on past the Outpost, Germany and Italy. I'd have loved to look in all the shops, and sample food at each pavillion, but 2 strollers in the stores was a big no no. So we basically just walked around. It's a shame, as I love Epcot, and can't wait until the kids are a bit older to enjoy it more. I will definately be planning a whole day here next year.

We grabbed some drinks in front of the American Adventure, and snapped some more pics of the Topiary's.

YEAH!! Lady and the Tramp:lovestruc

Joey running around, again

looking tired already and it's only the 1st day!

So we continue on our Journey, passing thru more lands, Japan and Morroco. I was hoping Aladdin or Jasmine would be out, but it was Genie and his line was waaaayyyy to long. So we skipped him too. :guilty: (I never get to take pics of the lands, DH thinks it's too boring to look at everything. I need a disney trip all to myself!!)

Finally we make it to UK and find a character we will wait in line for! Alice! She was very impressed with her page in the autograph book also.

By now, according to my newly found Mickey watch, it was about 445pm, and we had an ADR at 1900 Park Fare at 545pm. So we headed out to catch the monorail. First we must have stopped in every store looking for eye drops. no such luck. . They told us to check with 1st Aid over by Mexico, but i didn't want to back track and possibly be late for dinner, so i just put up with it. Joe decides to make 1 last stop at a small little kiosk across from the fountain to buy some Goofy Gummies. Joey decides this is a good time to stretch his legs.....thus begins Joey's unauthorized backstage tour!
He hops out of his stroller faster than i could blink, and runs straight for the wheelchair return. It's a 1/2 door, leading into the storage area. perfect height for him, he runs straight thru it. :scared1: :scared1: I drop everything and chase after him, but of course i have to bend down to make it thru the door. By the time i make it thru the door, he's all the way across the storage area and getting ready to head backstage! I can hear CM's running towards him yelling to stop. :guilty: I'm sure there's nothing up front of the park that would be "bad' for him to see, but i'm not quite ready for his magic to be shattered yet, so mommy adrenelin kicked in and somehow i managed to catch him before he made it out of the storage area. Acutally, i don't know how he didn't run into a wheelchair, as he was looking backwards the whole time laughing at mommy trying to catch him. The cm's escorted us out the door, and then rather forcefully closed the little 1/2 door for returns. :confused3

Yeah, we were sure to remember to buckle him in the rest of the trip.

Great update. :) I can just see you chasing Joey through the wheelchair storage place. :rotfl2:
