Ladies, WWYD if your husband shaved his head bald w/o telling you?

I would be angry. He doesn't need my permission to cut his hair, however he has asked my opinion and I've told him I think it would look horrible and why. DH is very skinny, bald looks much better on a rounded head IMO. I would consider it a very passive aggressive move if he went out and got it shaved without telling me, knowing how I would hate it.

Of course you have the right to do what you want with your hair regardless of anyone else's opinion. But if you're going to do it, at least tell her before hand and don't try to sneak out and do it like a naughty little boy. There just isn't room for that kind of sneakiness in a marriage IMO.

Some people do not have the head shape or coloring for it. Perhaps your wife is aware that you would look weird. We have a friend who shaves his due to impending baldness. He looks awful as his head is pointy; it's laughably ugly but he keeps doing it. My husband keeps saying things like, "do you suppose he doesn't look in a mirror?" He looks like a 'Conehead." Seriously, PD, it's a look only a few very sexy men can successfully pull off. Why not wait for a vacation and do it then in case you look ridiculous.

I start vacation Thursday.... :thumbsup2

I think a bald head is sexy... I'll admit when my ex did it... unexpectedly because he messed up shaving... I was a bit taken aback... but, as I grew used to it, I actually preferred it.
Tell her you'd REALLY like to try it..and if she hates it..you'll grow it back in a month for her :)

Dh shaved his head. At first I didn't think I'd like it, but it's his head/hair not mine. I say go for it. Hair grows back.

I think I'm going to do it on Thursday.... but I'll tell my wife. It really shouldn't be a big deal, as I normally get my hair cut to just longer than stubble... maybe 1/3rd of an inch.

I stopped cutting DH's hair several years ago. He just does it himself nowadays. He uses the clippers. He had shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago and I did cut his hair for him after that.
He cuts it super short and I like it super short. He's never done it totally bald and I'd be less fond of that, but , like you say, it'll grow back soon enough.

I actually like men to have less hair. I'm really not attracted to the look of a full head of hair. I think that seems strange. Both of my sisters are married to guys with a lot of hair and I think they feel bad for DH having so little, LOL.
I really do not like it when a man is obsessed with his hair thinning out a bit. I rarely run across a man like that but it drives me nuts. It equally drives me nuts when a woman says to me, "I'd love to cut my hair short but my DH won't let me." (or Like it, or whatever). rant over.

BTW, PD, I have not been able to come up with any info to send you about that spice store I was telling you about. If and when I do, I will let you know ASAP.

I think you're smart to tell her, Papa!:thumbsup2

Thanks... and still working on it myself... If the economy was better I think I would already have done it. I've had about 10 meetings with people about this... and I have an apppointment set up with S.C.O.R. E.

:rotfl: I keep my hair really short. Never gets to 2" in length. Basically when I get it cut it is about 1/4" long, but I definitely have hair visible. For ages I have wanted to see what I would look like 100% bald.... Maybe I would like it; maybe I wouldn't.

Only thing I do know is that my wife "says" she would hate it. But how would she know until she actually saw it?

I'm thinking about doing it just one time to see how I ( we ) like it..... maybe she will :lovestruc it! ;)

You should do it for St. Baldrick's - you can raise money for childhood cancer research - find out how you look - and how can your wife be upset when you've done something good for others!!

. . . . He uses the clippers. . . .

My DH cuts his hair super short, too. He uses the shortest guide on the clippers, the one just above "bald". He has a good shaped head and the super short hair looks good on him. He did shave his head once, but it was too much work compared to the clippers (and harder to reach it all, too), so he just uses the clippers now.

Hey, I am much happier to have a super short cropped man than some tool sporting a comb-over, IYKWIM.

My DH shaved his head without telling me. I didn't care. He keeps his hair pretty short anyways. He always cuts his own hair with the clippers. This one time I guess he goofed and had to shave it all. I thought he looked just as good. He has since let it grow back. He said once he starts going gray he's just gonna keep it bald. :)

I would assume you no longer wanted to get jiggy. I really do not like the bald look. At all. I find it a total turn off. Just like if I came home and had dyed my hair bright red or had gotten a tattoo -- he hates both of those and finds them to be total turn offs.

It's his hair. If he wants to shave it off it is his choice. I don't discuss my haircut choices with my husband either. Heck, if I want to shave my own head it is my choice. Not his. I cannot stand it when spouses "get mad" at each other for getting a haircut. IMO that is stupid.

Are you serious? It is a haircut! I don't really see that as being sneaky but okay.:confused3

I'd divorce him!

:rotfl2:

Nope, not that extreme, but I would be really mad. But, my husband has long rocker hair. And if he cut it, he'd look like a nerd!
Of course, if he does start to go bald, he plans on shaving it with my full approval! No Michael Bolton look for him! :thumbsup2

I'd be jumping for joy if hubby did it. Really! He'd rather wear his hair long which I can't stand. Thankfully, he knows I don't like long hair on guys, so he lets me keep it cut short. (Yes, I cut his hair.) He's got quite the receding hair line and I keep trying to convince him to just cut it all off, but he's not quite going for it.

I just don't understand why guys would rather do a comb-over or other nasty attempt to hold onto a few tiny hairs when bald looks so much better.
